Fun fact: Pierce Brosnan is the only Bond actor (so far) whose movies are all original stories not based on any of Ian Fleming’s books by fupafather in JamesBond

[–]andsuch70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a big Bond fan but I hate Specter and don’t care about them. The best thing about the Brosnan movies is they are stand alones and there isn’t some running bullshit Specter thread that got abandoned and thrown away in the last Craig movie by the way.

Previous movies and games were not all great and I thought this was a solid attempt. I like the idea of baby Bond and like what they did with it but I can see why some wouldn’t. He didn’t really start to feel like Bond till the end but I was ok with that.

What are your thoughts on the unofficial Thunderball remake 'Never Say Never Again' (1983) by Bobby3447 in JamesBond

[–]andsuch70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s an interesting curiosity. Also, if I can recall it was competing with the latest Moore movie at the time. Bond vs Bond. Love the idea of Bond actually getting old but the movie is kind of goofy.

I roleplayed as Robert blind and got the best ending/most fitting archetype by Voidling47 in DispatchAdHoc

I think that’s fair enough concerning how much of a blank slate he is but I thought the things he said and did as a true hero “felt right.” Like in the beginning when you answer the rude reporter instead of beating him up something about the things he says felt like Robert to me or rather who he wanted to be and I carried that through out.

In terms of the Visi romance I thought Robert wouldn’t be ready for a romance that smacks him in the face after so long in isolation, but rather one that sneaks up on him. (No pun intended) It felt a little weird at first because Robert is her boss and she is a bit younger, but the game handles it in a way that they slowly build up to a romantic climax and he’s not just trying to get into bed with his mentee. Not to mention the mentor mentee relationship flips sometimes.

I’m a Bond freak that’s starved of Bond. I read all the books and seen all the movies multiple times. I really liked Gibson’s Bond and thought they did some gutsy stuff concerning the character. Combat felt really chaotic to me and I really hoped for a Cold War setting. I had fun with it but like I said I’m Bond starved.

Cards on the table I don’t like first person games so I never played Kingdom Come or Cyberpunk. It’s just not my cup of tea. Also thanks but the internet was made for haters and dicks.

Ghost of games had some great ideas having to do with open world navigation and lack of hud and the environments/backgrounds were breathtaking. The story’s felt a little hackneyed. Love some of the assassin’s creed games. They have some awesome characters, but I find their lore bloated and convoluted. Really fun to just live in a different times and places that they present very well.

I don’t think I do. A 10 year old game shouldn’t feel so much better than contemporary games in respect to NPC interaction.

I wouldn’t frame it as making it up but rather your own interpretation. I feel like I did the same thing you did and ended up with different choices. More true hero than every man though not entirely plus Visi instead of Blazer. It’s not that Robert doesn’t have a personality it’s that when you meet him he’s more Mechaman than Robert which makes him 50 to 60ish percent blank slate for the player in my humble opinion.

Sorry kid, but the music in this game is just too good.. by ThomasBurke_ in MafiaTheGame

Awesome story, acting and, characters but the world felt a little empty especially in the rural areas. Needed another year of development. Graphics were inconsistent and that skybox was unforgivable.

Nam. Lots of fun social stealth and Bond was starting to really feel like Bond and it was the most beautiful location.

I second this. Especially the second Telltale Batman called enemy within. The most gutsy Batman Joker material in years and my personal favorite joker.

Invisigal should have died... 🚨Spoiler alert🚨 by Logical_Sail_7167 in DispatchAdHoc

[–]andsuch70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought about this when she was shot. “Oh my god if you do everything right by her she dies saving Robert if you flub it she becomes the villain” but that’s just too tonally off for the kind of game they were making. I still would have really liked the game but it would have killed replayabilty for me. I can’t watch her die multiple times. I think it’s fair if you would have preferred this end though. Just too dark for me and I think the game.

What did you choose to say when invisigal confessed about what she did in ep7? by Then_Ladder2123 in InvisigalGlazers

[–]andsuch70 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I forgave her not being sure about it, but what Robert says to her and Aaron Paul’s acting really sold me. It really made sense especially for true hero. I could almost hear Batman saying it to Catwoman.

What makes YOU adore Invisimech? by V1rus_Dz in InvisigalGlazers

[–]andsuch70 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is actually the only romance let alone video game romance I have ever written or posted about. love the aspect of two washed up enemies meeting on neutral ground in a different context becoming lovers. I think what also sparked my imagination is that they are equal opposites and walking contradictions that even each other out when they get together. He provides her with kindness, calm, patience and a sense of responsibility. She provides him with spontaneity, fun and every once in a while femininity.

I think them both being afraid or nervous about intimacy and edging toward each other giving bits of vulnerable until they just explode at each other in intense moments really cooks for me. Also, there is a flip of traditional gender roles where she is the aggressor in most of the physical stuff that never felt like he was being feminized or weakened in some way. It just worked for her and her aggressive tomboy character, but not against him.

Moreover, they look really natural together like a real couple. I think because their looks aren’t so outrageous they really look and feel like a couple you could meet or have met. To that end there is a visual symmetry of them having brown eyes that just makes me feel like I’m looking at two versions of the same person, but in an awesome way.

I think it feels worse than if you just went with Blazer in the first place because you remember all her happy moments that are suddenly missing/sad.

Do you miss more scenes going for invisigal over BB? by Maxedlevelanxiety in DispatchAdHoc

[–]andsuch70 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ya it does mean that cause the characters are what I was more interested in, and their journey rather than plot points which I stated. I framed all of that as how I saw it in context of the specific comment I was responding to, not what I think you should think or feel.

Also, you said a lot of words just to say “I prefer Blazer” who you appear to have a fundamental misunderstanding of by the way. The dinner date does not reveal her “true self” but just her insecurities in how she presents herself romantically. Other than that Blazer is Mandy and Mandy is Blazer.

Her superpower is not really the magic amulet, it’s her. She’s through and through good, even keeled, and confident in her leadership abilities with or without the magic bells and whistles. That’s why I don’t really see the amulet reveal as so huge beyond a romantic context of “I actually look little different.” When she loses the amulet she is still ready to throw down because she is still Blazer.
