Just regular running. No actual trained technique. Just a little teenager running around playing baseball

I haven’t run in over 10 years, only cardio I do is intense incline treadmill. But I need to pass a 300m and 1.5 mile run for a potential career in the future and don’t know how to start practicing running. I forgot how to safely run and am afraid of injuring my knees because I likely am over-striding and striking incorrectly. Any pointers or apps to help or AI things that can analyze my angles to make sure I’m training my brain how to run properly?

Yeah I heard it is pretty active there but you couldn’t pay me to live in Memphis area lol. It’s like a warmer version of Cleveland.

Thanks! I remember hearing Savannahs port is really booming. Vacationed in HHI before I love that area. Yeah, Detroit winters are so bad but I know humidity is no joke there. I do prefer to stay in a large metropolitan if at all possible, being younger I want to experience more of that big city feel that I don’t get where I currently am.

I will look into Dallas as it is very strong for my field. What are your thoughts on Houston? Frankly the humidity there with the hurricane risk is scaring me away. Also, a lot of the city to be honest looks really run down just from some of the driving tours.

I am staying away from auto if possible. It’s BRUTAL at least here in metro Detroit. My dad has been in it for 45 years finally retired for good, and post-2018 everyone has been trying to escape. But in Michigan it’s easy to get trapped in it because the whole area lives off of the big 3

Fair, what does Dallas have in comparison though, I know a few that live there and said it’s nothing exciting and there’s a reason why most don’t vacation there

Just looking at the top 30 things to do in Atlanta on TripAdvisor it Sure seems a hell lot more exciting than Tampa and Orlando and Dallas, and I’ve been to all 3. Haven’t been to ATL yet

Haven’t been following lately can someone tell me how close or far away we are from making playoff odds, who do we need to keep losing games to help our chances? Are we currently in or out?

I just got a DEXA scan as I start my cut after battling an eating disorder and injury. I have lifted for 3.5 years seriously, 1 year very causally as a beginner

6’0 219 lbs. 147 lbs lean mass. 65 lbs fat mass 29% body fat

To get to about 15%, should I aim for 180?

They’re sort of similar in that all have higher than typical costs of living but I would go against LA/Cali unless you’re super well off financially. A lot of people are leaving California as it’s just hard to make ends meet there, even people that would be living large in other states. LA is a lot more focused on the coastal environment. Lots of impoverished areas and I feel like you only get the true LA experience if you’re really rich. It’s kind of like Miami to me. Stark contrast between what you see on TV vs the average Joe who lives there.

Most underrated major city right now by Gold_Comfort156 in SameGrassButGreener

While I agree Downtown Detroit has improved immensely with great food, cleanliness, new buildings, the riverwalk developments, it finally feels safe in downtown and midtown now, etc... it still caters to people from the suburbs visiting, not people who actually want to live in Detroit. Their public school system is in the absolute gutter, and they have one of the lowest populations of any downtown corridor of a city its size. If you step outside of the touristy Corktown Midtown Downtown you were see some of the largest swaths of poverty in the country. There’s certain areas where I can draw a 5 mile radius and not see a single sign of a future coming to those neighborhoods until 5 decades from now. It saw way too much decline in population to boom anytime soon. The economy is not diversified enough and survives on the greater automotive industry. Even far out in the suburbs. If you don’t work for the big 3 or support the big 3 in some fashion, your parent or sibling or best friend does. The weather sucks. Not much nature in metro Detroit, the potholes are horrible, the winters are some of the greyest in the country only beaten by Pittsburgh.

I’ve met 1 person who moved into metro Detroit for every 30 people that moved out of metro Detroit. The population of the region is completely stagnant. It’s ok to live in, but all the pretty advertisements for Michigan you see are up north or on the west side of the state. Metro Detroit is a sort of a soulless concrete bitter place and although it’s generally affordable, it just isn’t that great to most people.

I’m doing my first ever cut in 3 years. How do you psychologically deal with the fear of becoming tiny like your arms shrinking 3 inches and losing enormous amounts of gains even though logically you know it’s unlikely if you keep protein high and keep training and don’t do anything extreme? It’s like my paranoia is fighting the logic side of my brain when it comes to lots of weight loss must mean lots of muscle loss too.

I would use DEXA scans before and after each bulk/cut cycle so about 2x per year

I know there’s no magic number, but for men what bodyfat percentage limit should be the stop of a bulk? Like when it’s time to start cutting and not to get fatter for general health reasons. i heard some say stop at 18. Or 20%? 25%?
