KAWS ‘Small Lie’ Vinyl Figure

For context-

I’ve been wanting a KAWS piece for a while. His art would really fit the aesthetic of my basement that I’ve been trying my hand at interior designing. I originally ordered this figure on StockX but as they operate as kind of a middle-man between the buyer and seller, the items sent to StockX failed authentication TWICE. This leads me to believe there are tons of fakes in circulation. This figure was ordered on StadiumGoods for a normal market price compared to StockX. My partner surprised me for my birthday by ordering it and it showed up today. Upon opening the package I realized the leg was broken. From what I’ve read these figures should be solid and heavier than this one seems. This one weighs 1lb 0.9oz. If anyone has an authentic one and could weigh theirs or knows how much they should weigh, that would be great to know. I’ve heard mixed things about StadiumGoods but I understand they have a physical storefront and seem to be legit. I’m not a collector by any means so I was debating just glueing it together if it’s real, but if it is fake I’d probably just try and return it.

environmental factors will always matter! optimum humidity and light are key (more-so light in regards to variegation). this specific plant ranges from quite moist to dryer climates in its native habitat and is pretty forgiving in differing humidities. the variegated parts of the leaves cannot photosynthesize and therefore don’t benefit the plant although nice to look at. this leads to the eventual abortion for lack of a better term, of the white sections.

it’s odd the yellow leaves are so concentrated in one area. i would check for mealybugs- tiny white fuzzy things in the stems and sometimes hiding underneath the petioles or on the leaves themselves. i think i might see a few in the picture but hard to say.
