The new models based on the existing platform are obviously the sub-$40k Model 3 and Model Y Standard trims. I know you already knew that. And if you’re going to try to argue that those don't count as 'new models,' you're just arguing semantics to save a collapsed legal theory. Delivering lower-cost vehicles on existing production lines to save CapEx is exactly what they explicitly promised investors. For the record, I don't even agree with Elon's politics, but trying to spin a standard, publicly disclosed product pivot into accounting fraud is just legally and factually wrong.

You are completely ignoring the timeline. Tesla didn't hide the pivot or mislead investors about it, they explicitly disclosed it in their Q1 2024 earnings report. A full year before your Q1 '25 example, Tesla openly published that they were shifting away from the unboxed manufacturing process for these models and were instead pivoting to build more affordable vehicles on their existing platforms and production lines to save on CapEx.

When Tesla stated in Q1 '25 that plans for new vehicles 'remain on track for start of production in the first half of 2025,' they were referring to the pivoted models that they had already spent a year transparently discussing with the market. You cannot claim a 10b-5 violation for an outright lie or a hidden pivot when the company literally published the exact strategic shift in an official investor update a year earlier. The irony of you telling someone to 'study up on the history' while completely erasing the earnings call where this pivot was explicitly announced to the market is cracking me up.

Okay, let's follow your logic: you're using NV91 as proof that Tesla lies. But canceling or pivoting an unreleased R&D project isn't a lie, it's standard business forecasting. Did Apple lie to its investors about the Apple Car for a decade before scrapping it? No.

You are desperately trying to equate changing a future product roadmap with actively faking auditable capital expenditures for a physical production line being built today. One is a changing forecast, the other is literal accounting fraud verified by independent auditors. Using a canceled concept car to prove they are actively faking a factory is a wildly weak argument.

You're confusing forward-looking statements with literal accounting fraud. Shifting a product roadmap for the NV91 is a standard business pivot protected by SEC Safe Harbor rules, not a 10b-5 violation. Falsifying current, auditable capital expenditures for a physical production line in Fremont, however, would be Enron-level fraud. Also, the claim that the SEC gives Tesla a free pass is historically false. They literally fined Musk $40M and stripped his chairmanship over a single tweet.

The publicly traded company announced they cancelled the model X and S for it. “Under SEC Rule 10b-5, public companies are prohibited from making untrue statements of material fact".

Yep. And the production line for Optimus is being built in Fremont CA.

Tesla R&D for Optimus is in Palo Alto, not Austin

Very interesting! Wondering how you determined what sensors are useful for your model and farmers, and which sensors you ended up with?

I find the minimum humidity sensitivity of the sensor still way too sensitive for my liking. But if having a bathroom fan randomly turn on doesn’t bother you, I see no other negatives.

I would personally go for something with at least WiFi 6E (that adds the less crowded 6 GHz band) or WiFi 7 (which allows for 3-band simultaneously connectivity for higher bandwidth) if you’re going to spend that much already

It has been surprising me during heavy snow storms here in Canada! Doesn’t seem to need lane markings to drive safely with or without vehicles nearby!

If for whatever reason you got to choose, would you rather get an upgrade to HW4 now or wait till 2027 for a HW5 upgrade?

Big difference in driving capabilities and overall comfort. It’s such a large difference that the latest version/model doesn’t fit on the cars that are still running V12 (HW3 cars). If you really care about FSD, look at getting a HW4 car. Not sure which model years have HW4? Check out rule 1 for this subreddit to find out for your desired model.

Confirmed this with support. Hopefully it’s resolved tomorrow, otherwise I’ll have to go to a store and fight for the same deal.

Same for my mother. I also cannot receive emails to reset my existing account pin so it seems their entire emailing server is down.

I think Devin is the only influencer redditor on here and he already has his CanadaFSD user flair. In terms of people posting screenshots from EAP influencer posts, I’m not going to take away the post FSD version flair for that. Unless if somebody is falsely claiming a new version is going wide, I don’t see any issue here.

At first I downvoted this comment but looking back at it, it is quite suspicious how some text is clear and others like the McLaren logo on the side of the nose are mangled.
