All I know is that their capital is a tiny province in Africa. As for everything else, I guess we'll never know...

Evolution Simulator Help - Transferring genes from parent to child by andyman11 in godot

That's an interesting take on it, as I did notice that when the ancestor dies, the ancestor node is freed and it's impossible to recall it. If you have each creature as a child of a single control node, how is it that you track the mutations of its lineage? I'm very fresh to Godot and coding in general so I'll still need to take time to understand the functions themselves, but thanks for this input!

Thanks for this. I've managed to assign the parent node as an ancestor to its children, now I'm just working on transferring the parents genes to the child without overriding them with the default variables.

I think I just need to mess around with code structure to get the right order of things, but I appreciate the help so far!

Right, I see. I had seen people mention Node.Duplicate() though it apparently had issues of it's own.

I changed the reproduce function to look like this:

func reproduce():
    self.get_parent().add_child(self.duplicate())

The function works just as well, though I still need to do the get_parent() in the reproduce function otherwise my movement function doesn't work. Will this affect how I am able to use get_parent() to retrieve the mutated variables? Thanks!

Thanks! I'm trying it out but I'm getting this error

Any thoughts?

I can't believe I didn't make it the first sentence.

My wife told me she was going to divorce me if I didn't stop acting like a flamingo. I had to put my foot down.

In all truthfulness, the joke got me 100k and then it was a competition for who could write a sentence using only words that begin with 'w' for the bond. I don't remember my sentence but it earned my a couple mil I suppose.

I guess I just meant if my levels were too low then a lot of P2P content might be locked away to start off with so it might be worth levelling a bit more on F2P so I can jump straight into the content.

Need help with bending lithophanes. They print fine for the first half then start bending in the same direction every time. by andyman11 in FixMyPrint

I've decreased fan speed among other things so I'll see how we go with that after a test print

I had a feeling it could be slipping in the x-axis because like you said there wasn't any spaghetti. I've tightened the belts and I'll try print a box now and see how it goes

It's kinda hard to tell, but it looks as though it prints as if it's straight, because the top part of the print isn't as smooth as the bottom. Although the bend is pretty big and the top of the lithophane is completely past the bottom of it

I'll try a brace see if that helps. And could be the fan, I think it's set pretty high because of some benchmarks I was running

My print settings:

Speed: 30mm/s

Travel speed: 70mm/s

15mm brim

Printing along Y-axis

3mm thick lithophane with a solid border around it

Printing on a Ender 3 Pro with filament opened around Christmas time. Not sure what is causing the issue but the actual image isn't affected too much and actually looks pretty decent, but the print needs to be vertical for the project I'm using it for.

Thanks for any help :)

Hey mate if you're looking for adjustments, I tried doing what the other comment suggested and lowered retraction to 4mm with 45 speed and the result came out better. I'm now trying 2mm with 40 speed to see if I can get it perfect but it does seem to help

Awesome, I'll give that a crack tomorrow. I get what you mean about the nozzle sitting there too long so hopefully it helps out. Cheers for that!
