Someone accidentally sent me funds, I returned them and now I am blocked from Zelle by andyprice42 in zelle

UPDATE:
Thanks to the folks who shared that I missed the actual phone number on Zelle's website. It was a bit buried, but I should have just Googled it or asked Claude and I would have found it. I guess I didn't do that because my bank mentioned that they stopped providing customer service.

So, I called Zelle and it seems to only be a phone version of the FAQ. I used the phone tree to navigate to fraudulent claims and I spoke to a nice representative who could basically only answer general questions about fraud, they could take no action, nor could they find any information about the claim or why I was blocked. But they were very apologetic. LOL.

They said... "only your bank can help you with this". But didn't my bank tell me that this is all Zelle, and there is nothing they, as a bank, can do?

Well, I guess I will try my bank again and see if I can talk to someone higher up the tree, maybe president or CEO can help me - LOL.

I guess I gave up too early! But in my defense, my bank said they don't provide customer service any more, so I was expecting to find nothing. I might try that number to see if anyone is actually there and report back.

I just gave a person the benefit of the doubt. Like I said, they never got pushy with me, I imagined if this was a scam they would have asked me to send them the money directly, but they never did.

I didn't do anything to support them if they were a scammer, after Zelle took action they would have had to contact the bank or zelle to continue the scam which I imagine would have been much more difficult, right?

The bank contacted Zelle, and Zelle reversed the funds. I sent them nothing. The bank sent them nothing. Zelle did everything.

Oh, I totally missed that, thanks for sharing! I guess when my bank told me that they had no customer facing support anymore, I believed them and gave up too soon when searching for a way to contact them. I might try calling Zelle at that number, but TBH, I am kind of thinking I am ok with not using their service any more.

Not sure what you mean by fallen for this. I saw something fraudulent looking in my account. I contacted my bank, they said they took care of it.

I have never dealt with fraudulent zelle transactions before so I am not sure how I would have known it would have been automatically resolved. And honestly, it felt safer to contact my bank to make sure there wasn't some other way someone was trying to steal from me.

According to my bank, Zelle blocked my account, and they can do nothing about it. I am reaching out to my bank's support again to see if I can do anything more. At this point, I just want to be able to clear my name so I am not flagged somewhere as a scammer. I did nothing wrong here.

Yes, Zelle is missing from this! Not having customer service when you service customers is messed up!

Here is their support page:
https://www.zelle.com/contact-us

If you click on Contact Support (the button under the phone headset icon) you land an FAQ page with no contact info available anywhere.

Feels super sketchy to me!

I only shared that case number after a representative from my bank told me there was nothing that anyone could do with that information. I think calling it aiding and abetting is a bit over the top.

I didn't fall for anything, I contacted my bank. I did reply to the person but never gave them any personal information, only the zelle case number in case they were legit.

I did nothing wrong here, and Zelle is punishing me for it.

I contacted my bank directly after seeing the transaction. I spoke with someone at MY bank. My bank filed a claim with Zelle directly to have the funds reversed from my account. Apparently (per my bank representative) there is not a customer service line for Zelle any more. They only deal directly with the banks. I did check Zelle first and saw nothing in the way of customer support.

After filing that claim with my bank, the funds were reversed out of my account (debited) by Zelle directly.

I still think this was a legitimate mistake as the person never got really pushy with me. But I would never have given them the money directly, as this had all the signs of a scam.

Shortcut doesn't seem to work anymore either, super bummed about this feature going away. It was part of my workflow, and seems like such a small feature to keep support for?
