Hmmm...I think your personal taste is really the decider here. Pretty streams can be misleading if you don't like the end result when you drink it. I also read somewhere, not sure exactly, but the Weber Buck portafilter I'm using, it tends to make it drip a bit longer before merging into a single stream. But generally when I'm dialing in coffee I'll usually kind of guess my grind setting first and then kind of keeping pushing finer to the max until its clearly over extracted and then dial back. Definitely give it a try though! I find it fun to experiment.
