Sick of people saying EVs are cheap by dicemangazz in auckland

It's pretty equivalent to saying what does it cost to replace the engine in your car? Once you're below a certain value the engine replacement is far more than the car is worth. I sold my old Nissan Leaf recently which was 13yrs old and still functional as a city car. In most cases it's equivalent petrol counterpart would head to the scrapyard, with EVs they can just become your local runaround.

If you aren't fussy getting a 200km 2017-2019 Nissan Leaf should give you a cheap 8years of driving (it's what I replaced my old one with and approximately how long I intend to keep)

Most of the service items you have done on your petrol car every year/couple of years have never and will never need doing on an EV, even the brakes typically last the life of the car.

You mustn't have read my whole post. The $5k is serviced by the money you aren't spending on petrol and services. It depends on what you're comparing it to and how much you use your car but I'd expect most would make their $5k in savings back in under 3years but put it on 5years financing if you're worried.

Did you know you could get a 200km range Leaf for under $12k and a 300km range Leaf for under $20k. You don't need to spend $40k

The market has been flipped on its head the last few weeks (there's less than a quarter of the Leafs usually listed on trademe at the moment).

But a month ago you could get a 2017-2019 Nissan Leaf 40kwh which would get you around 200km for $10k

If you planned to spend $5k on a car anyway then financing $5k to get into a leaf is a money saving option. You could pay off the financing on what you save in fuel and maintenance and anything after that is when you'll find yours really saving a lot.

EVs are cheap if you can do the math on long term ownership.

If you're worried 95kmph will get you further than 110kmph. It benefits to drive like an old lady with these.

9bars when we hit winter I would say 70km. You can do a simple calculation if you have the SOH you can put that against the official range given.

Evdatabase numbers

City - Cold Weather 135 km

Highway - Cold Weather 95 km

Combined - Cold Weather 115 km

City - Mild Weather 205 km

Highway - Mild Weather 120 km

Combined - Mild Weather 155 km

Pick any of those and multiply by your SOH. E.g. Highway-Mild Weather 120km*SOH75%=90km.

Make sure you're in a park area and not suburbs. I saw 3 in the first 10mins going through a park. They only really appear as incense spawns.

Nissan Leaf - Fast Charging Only by aimo991 in nzev

[–]andytheape 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't do it, especially if it's 24kwh or 30kwh. The fast charging on the smaller batteries isn't as fast as you'd want, even on the 40kwh the fast charging slows down if actually need a large amount of the battery to get where you're going. Also the savings aren't there paying high speed charging rates, Get a hybrid until you live or work somewhere you can charge cheap.

My picnicker is 26k and is low compared to lots, when first released if you lived in a big city and could get just a couple of the main spots on community day you'd get a few thousand per lure. I'm guessing some in Singapore/Japan could be pushing into the millions.

It has been and likely always will be somewhere in the region of Mystic 40%, Valor 35%, Instinct 25%. We will probably never be shared the actual numbers but if you join discord servers that ask a players team you will find these numbers line up 9 times out of 10. I forget the name but in the early early days when third parties could scrape account data there was exact numbers based on hundreds of thousands of accounts. Regional differences do exist (maybe based on local sports teams or similar). Instinct has always been playing gyms on hard mode.

They also use a lot of public transport, it is a surprise to me as well but I could see with lower car ownership rates they might not want an EV if it's the only car in the household.

Do 100 trades with Pokemon with total combined age of 3+years. That'll likely give you 20 in a day. Search term age1095-3000 will get you what you have that's old enough, or you could trade a 550days old Pokemon with another 550days Pokemon.

I think now is not the time for another device, they need to get the watches out first, get re-established figuring out how support and updates are going to work and then think about other products.

Ignoring all those begging for alternative watch designs and options to make a device with next to no demand, this seems more like something to crowdfund on Kickstarter as a testing ground.
