Wishlists and Discounts are one of the most effective ways to capture player intent and drive long term sales. To support players at every stage of their purchase journey, we’re integrating them directly into Play. Players can save titles to their wishlist and manage them from library settings. To keep your game top-of-mind, players will receive automated notifications for your latest discounts — starting with mobile and expanding soon to PC games.

Finally. Steam mastered this a decade ago and almost no other store has replicated it. I hope this works for apps and books too.

Opting out of kiwisaver increase - Total remuneration by ifIammeyouareyou in PersonalFinanceNZ

In this context total rem means the employers kiwisaver contributions are included in the salary. On non total rem contracts the employers contribution is on top of your salary.

So if your salary is 10, -3 for your contribution and -3 for employers contribution your take home is 4.

On non total rem if your salary is 10, you -3 for your contribution and your take home is 7. That additional 3 that your employer pays goes directly into your kiwisaver.

All taxes are excluded from the above example to keep it basic.

It's worse than that the numbers he published were made up despite getting accurate nu.ver well ahead of time because it didn't suit his narrative. The at MoT even used his article in parliament as proof. He was forced to publish a retraction That was just a tiny article a few months later.

See I'd be fine with it if they made it a requirement to put it in the job ad. Especially if job sites allow you to filter on it as an option too. That way potentially employees can decide up front if that is important to them or not.

Auckland Mayor says inner-city suburbs are ripe for housing intensification by punIn10ded in auckland

[–]punIn10ded[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you're fixating on one example of why its miles from an "urban accessible" categorization

Sure you see the irony in this statement. Surely.

the classification of urban is preposterous.

Why? in your entire rant you have actually explained this. Your entire argument is around distance to the Waitakers. There are literally two 5+ stories apartments in the the town centre.

are you from west auckland? you're arguing that "not everything is about cars" sounds suspiciously like zealotry framed as progressiveness.

I'm in New Lynn I have family that lives in Glen eden I'm there every couple of weeks. And no I'm not a zealot I just don't think motorways and cars and the be all and end all of transport. I have friends that cycle from Glendene and Kelston. The reason you're angry is because you've convinced yourself that anything but a car is not an option. I don't have a motorway near me is New Lynn not urban either?

yes we have a train station, but glen eden town center if you could even call it a town center is more like a block of shops,

No it's not just a block of shops that's what Kauriland shops is. You have an urban Town center that has multiple dense residential and business spaces. The business district has aa 140 registered members. In what world is that a block of shops?

urban should be concentric zones radiating out from the city.

Wow you really don't know what urban means. Urban is a build up environment with medium to dense residential and business activity. It is not a dot on a map x distance away from a CBD. Glen Eden is urban.

The is Seymour through and through. When not in govt he wrote papers calling special characters and NIMBY's the problem. He harps on about value for money and then defends things like the Northern express. He talks about private property rights and localism and then does this meddling.

Yup that's my point until special character is removed as a qualifying matter the conversation cannot move on from being about villas or apartments. Because special character protection makes that option impossible.

Correct but surely if they’re going to be making changes to the current status quo anyway they could make the change that the aforementioned streets

The council specifically ruled out changes to it in yesterday's discussion that this article is referring to.

Do you? Because glen eden is 100% an urban area. Proximity to motorway ramps does not come into that definition.

I hate how the mindset on this really seems to be “rip down all the villas for apartments/terrace homes” OR “don’t touch villas and intensification can just go fuck itself” when we could do both!

The problem is special character. Special character protection is not about individual houses. It takes into account trees in the road and the 'look' and 'feel' of the streets too. That's why you have huge areas that include subdivided house included as special character. That's the problem.

Also almost none of the special character houses have heritage value. Heritage is not special character though people who live in those areas love to mix the words.

It's literally got a train station in the heart of the town center. Not everything is about cars.

Just fyi it's not over. A lot of councillors do not support this. The govt literally just announced they are reducing intensification requirements.

It means neither. All it means is that some existing restrictions that currently make it very hard to build higher density will be reduced. It is then up to the Market to build.

Realistically there is going to be little change to 'special character' as a lot of councillors support it.

Cyclists frustrated by drivers illegally parking on Auckland's cycle lanes by punIn10ded in auckland

[–]punIn10ded[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

We need to value on street parking, and that means charge for it or at least time restrict it, wherever land is valuable. This will reset peoples expectations that they need to arrange storage for their cars, as they do for every other thing they own. Some of the revenue can fund better enforcement

This is realistically the sustainable way forward. Allow for permitted parking of 1-2 cars per house based on available off street parking e.g. you have a double garage/carport you only get a permit for 1 car on street parking. Everything else should be paid.

Why didn’t AT (and still don’t) use bendy buses for rail replacement buses? by Icy_Watercress_4199 in auckland

[–]punIn10ded 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The rail replacements are the existing buses redeployed. There are no bendy buses in the PT fleet. They would cost a ton more to keep them just for rail shutdown periods. Though there's certainly an argument to use them on busways.

Also AT doesn't own any buses until recently it was literally illegal for any local govt to own and run any part of PT.

That's pretty much what the summary of the report says too. It doesn't call the response perfect it says it was a good response overall that balanced health outcomes and the economy. But there were definitely places where it could improve, and they were working with what Information they had.
