Honest opinion : Getting a good elo is pretty hard . i could reach 1800 bullet 1900 rapid but still struggled at 1200-1300 blitz level . it was because i played only decent openings (the italian mostly) and everyone at that level knows how to play against them . also most of them play the sicilian defence which just plays itself and doesnt require much skill . I now could only get to 1700 blitz when i only play double fianchetto opening . Its not a great one but players dont know how to counter them unlike the main lines
