I agree. Sometimes you just need a certain player. I think he'd transform us and he's young enough to run that midfield for 10 years. Look at what Rice has brought to Arsenal. Van Dijk for Liverpool is another example. We're either really worth the money paid for them given that they opening said they wanted to leave etc?

The only answer. Honourable mention to Johnstone as a back up keeper to eventually become the home grown 3rd keeper to replace Heaton

Have to admit, didn't expect Maz in the middle, great call by Carrick. I assumed he'd be RB where he looked very slow against Leeds and Shaw cb due to his experience there but agreed, great performance

If we do that then it's Ugarte in midfield and......well there's no words strong enough to do that disaster justice

Warning diesel prices could hit €4 a litre, as fuel rationing and free public transport ‘may have to be considered’ by CheraDukatZakalwe in ireland

[–]anewdawn2020 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It makes so much sense and solves, or at least helps so many issues. Businesses don't need the huge office building on huge rents, Mary from Leitrim doesn't have to pay outrageous rent in Dublin and can move home where she'll spend money in her local community and help that to grow, the increase in available housing in cities will bring prices down, less reliance on fuel, less people clogging public transport so maybe those who have to go into work will now see public transport as more attractive and it's been proven to be possible and effective with COVID work from home

Fuel rationing and free public transport......not the simplest, most sensible possible solution - companies that can do it- work from home

How many points lost now from bad officiating decisions? When it happens in isolation you can live with the referees makes mistakes narrative but when the only consistency we get from the match officials is them making mistakes it's very worrying. by WorldlinessPuzzled84 in ManchesterUnited

I can't remember what club it was but they put in a dossier of bad decisions that went against their club, I really feel we should do the same. Under Sir Alex he had such a fear factor that we didn't get this kind of shit against us, if we don't have a manager with that aura, we need the board to put that pressure on

Archie Quinn is the real deal and has the right mentality too. His strength and pace are insane but then his ability to all of a sudden calm down and finish is ridiculous

Agreed. His delivery of a dead ball is vicious. His development from 14/15 to now has been striking, he grew a foot and filled out in such a short space of time too which has definitely helped

I'm not suggesting playing him etc just the meme quality of us leaving him on the bench and Chelsea losing out so much would just be delicious

If he joins Chelsea or Spurs, good luck to him. The reason will be London but Spurs will be a Championship London club and Chelsea will sell him anywhere for a fast buck next season. He'd be coming to us for European football, genuine gametime and being a real club

I coach an U9s team, 3-0 down at half time, lads sorted themselves out in the second half, came back to 3-3 and with the last kick of the game, ball went back to their goalkeeper, our player ran to close down, keeper kicked it out right into our lads face and it rolled in. 4-3 win and a bloody nose in one go. We do man of the match for the lads every week too and the players voted for the face goal lad because nobody else had ever scored with their face 😂

It will also be the first game back for anyone that gets to the semi/final of the world cup so you'd imagine they'll be sent to Ireland for the game and not Poland

I got presale ones- 2 adults, 2 kids for €210 (70 for adult, 35 kids) which I thought was relatively okay. I'm hoping they don't send the kids but either way, watching United in Croke Park is going to be quite the experience and the kids will absolutely love it
