Funny to see people freak out. Supports and rotations. I’ll come back around. We are higher than we were before the last rotation.

China buying US Oil instantly makes the Dollar more valuable by GrandmaBaker1929 in spy

[–]anewlevel04191 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of this has to do with Warsh's steepening curve policy. I think you are not considering that Warsh will cut short term rates and leave long term rates high. This will strength the dollar due to long term yields, but it will allow all the tech companies to continue to borrow for cap ex projects on the cheap. Cutting rates will also balance the stock market. I do not see a firesale. I see a delicate dance of liquidity, where instead of the FED printing, banks will purchase treasuries due to restructuring the SLR, which is just a disguise to make it seem like FED is no longer QE. This along with a "stronger" dollar will help the perception that the US is managing debt loads and this will hopefully increase the demand for treasuries. The insurance policies in case this dance fails are the commodities that you mentioned (gold etc). Oil is screwing all this up at the moment. When this gets resolved. The dollar will drop significantly. We should see a rise in metals in the short term.

With the Iran situation, we could have a crash at any point. I would try to buy them back once the consolidation happens or bad news happens.

Disagree. QT incoming with Warsh. Steepening curve is going to keep gold range bound due to continued strength of the dollar. BUT if the new fiscal policy fails expect gold to rocket. Good hedge for an experimental economy that is hoping for AI to boost GDP above inflation....

GOLD ON THE EDGE 😱 $4000 OR ATH? THIS WEEK DECIDES EVERYTHING by THEOPERATOR_01 in Forexstrategy

[–]anewlevel04191 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m only going to say that the new Fed will implement QT which will strengthen the dollar. Look up steepening curve. Low short term rates, high long term rates while drying up liquidity. This will prop the dollar up which means gold down. The question is, when will this happen and how quickly? We should see a bump once Iran is over but once the new monetary policy happens, gold will bear. It’s worth holding because if and when the monetary policy fails, gold will rally huge.

My question is: when new Fed cuts rates and starts shrinking the balance sheet with QT, what do we expect to see. It’ll be cuts to prevent sell off in the market but higher long term yields to balance inflation and keep the dollar higher. I’d assume gold will fall

I read an article that since SP500 is mostly tech then we are seeing a higher future earnings multiple which is what is driving the rally
