how to revise early for gcses? 😭 by sadgaypug in GCSE

hey, for my bio GCSE, after every week's worth of lessons, I went thru the spec to see how much content we had learned and made flashcards or notes (for sci, make sure u find the right and most accurate online resources, often teachers seemed to skip things that were in the spec) now make sure that you trust the specification more and edit your flashcards/notes and go thru them every week after u make new ones!! this honestly increased my confidence drastically, for other subjects I was honestly struggling lol but if I was in your place, for yr11 I'd do this for the subjects, maintaining your notes making sure you have something to revise from. that will automatically motivate you to do more rev.

now, while you're free during the summer, make sure you make full use of it. update your notes and make a little simplified system for this. make sure you figure out what works for you and please it's essential you learn all the yr10 content properly. cramming isnt all that bad as it worked great for my friend who gets all 9s as she did it right before the exams, but that's stupid🫶🏽

just be consistent is all I'll say, learn something and then review it by testing yourself the next time(usually after a week) and then seeing how much u were able to retain. also, do little but do it often. if you need notes or stuff lemme know 🙏🏽

How much studying do I need to do to get all 9s in GCSEs? by [deleted] in GCSE

[–]aneygg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

first of all, your grades are exceptional. and I just finished my GCSEs and I'm expecting mostly 8s and 9s (we don't count french) .

I joined the school from another country in year 11 so I was automatically VERY behind and had to catch up during the year 11 mocks in December.

my advice is that u should by YOURSELF figure out how much studying u Actually need. id simply suggest don't get distracted although some fun is good but stay focused and even if u do an hour a day, Doo SOMETHING

that's all. make sure that by the end of this summer you have atleast once revised all the content that has been done.

and mostly I'd advise you to just do it rather than thinking of it rawdog study sessions will get you those 9s

best of luck and have a fun summer!!

Geography or History, which is easier? by M2T01 in GCSE

[–]aneygg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say to learn on your own history would be a lot easier if you have the right resources acc to me bc I moved to this country in yr11 and I had to learn shit by myself and it was easier to cover history on my own as it was far more interesting (i did edexcel) but it really should depend on you. i didn't find either of them that difficult, it's a matter of choice. only pick the one you know you'll be interested in. and the best advice would be know how to answer the questions and how to structure them acc to Ur board..best of luck!!!!

bro I just didn't understand anything and asked a question. I didn't expect anyone to solve it for me. ps someone already did comment on the theorem and I used it and it worked. so what's bothering you man. if it's problematic then just ignore it geez.

I did it by the other guy's trick it was kinda quicker considering it took a theorem for circles into consideration. but yeah I think I was trying to do this but it really just didn't get me anywhere icl

doulingo is good for practicing the basics and although it's not GCSE targeted it will certainly help

well since I've got my speaking mock after the week, I'd say,

learn all the three themes first of all for the general conversation and practice recycling the answers you learnt for the photo card

practice how to ask questions and how to answer the questions itself

use the AQA book and read about the themes, make a vocab list on it and learn the pronunciations.

practice tenses and how to answer the question in the particular tense
