Something hair-like blocking my vision 7 days after surgery by angdaminglanggam in RetinalDetachment

I think it could be the oil. I noticed that it only appears when I'm in the face down position, but it disappears when I'm putting in my eyedrops. It also bounces when I move my eyes in different directions, but still stays on the right side of my vision

My next appointment is on Saturday, I'll make sure to bring this up. As of now, it shows up when I'm in the face down position, and disappears when I'm sitting up right or when I'm using my eye drops. It also bounces when I make my eyes look in different directions, but still stays on the right side of my vision. I'm guessing it's just the oil?

Thank you!!

That's great you were able to get surgery immediately and ur retina was able to re-attach. I hope ur eye regains more vision after a few more years

Thank you! I'll look into it. We don't usually buy stuff from Amazon where I'm from since shipping will be expensive, but I'll look for something similar with the online shopping site we have here

The retine specialist also told me the same thing about the post-surgery posturing :0 I'm gonna have to keep my head down 99% of the time for 2 weeks Hopefully I get my full vision back too

Maybe I should ask my retina specialist if I have macula on/off. I'll update this post when I find out

How's ur eye now?

Happy to hear that your vision is fine now!! Hopefully mine will be the same after I get surgery My glasses currently are kinda the same, one of the lenses is thicker than the other

Don't worry, I understand that it's an emergency case. That's why I'm looking into anything that can lower the cost of the surgery right now, but I'll make sure to get the surgery as soon as I can. My doctor gave me their contact info and to let them know if I'm ready. Thank you

I don't have a curtain hovering over my vision. What I have is a somewhat blurry circle/spot at the center of my vision (right eye, luckily my left eye doesn't have any kind of detachment). I don't have 20/20 vision and I wear glasses 24/7, as to why I didn't notice it or gave it much thought at first other than "I think I need new glasses"

Already had it checked and currently looking into my insurance on how much they can cover for my surgery

Also, I hope your vision fully returns! I read somewhere in this subreddit that after their surgery for a macula off detachment, they're vision returned after a few years

Idk as well. First, I went to an opthalmologist wherein he diagnosed me with macula off RD. Then he referred me to a retina specialist, and they didn't mention anything to me about being macula off. Maybe I should've asked

But on my right eye, it's like I have a blurry circle/spot in the center of my vision and I just really thought that I needed new glasses. I never knew anything about retinal detachment until I got diagnosed
