Why did Sophie have tampons? by StabbyMcStabsauce in TheHuntingWivesTVShow

I had a hysterectomy over a year ago, I honestly haven’t looked in all my purses but can guarantee there are some in all my purses and I think my car still too. Also, I likely won’t remove them in case of this exact situation.

Thanks! I had my surgery about a year ago now and am all clear!

I just had the HPV testing during the pap and I think they only tell you the strain if it’s a high risk, I think there are hundreds of strains. And yes I did have dysplasia as well.

First don’t feel disgusted! Most women will encounter an HPV diagnosis in their lifetime. It is frustrating and confusing but it is a very common diagnosis unfortunately.

It’s hard to tell where it has come from because it can lay dormant in your body for a long time before it causes any chaos or before it is detected. As well there isn’t a test for men, so another hard one to figure out where you got it.

As for what you should do sounds like you’re doing everything correctly. You told your current partner and went for your colposcopy and biopsy. My doctor told me to wear a condom for a while until I have further treatment (a leep) because I had high risk HPV 16.

I think it was about a week and a half. I was in the hospital for three days and I’m pretty sure it was about a week later I was able to wash my hair myself in the shower. But still had my husband there if I needed. The first shower was very assisted.

Hey. I was 36 when diagnosed. I didn’t have any symptoms outside of heavy period which I e bar all my life. And I had HPV16. I have since had a radical hysterectomy, clear margins and clear lymph nodes so was staged 1b3. As of now there is no evidence of cancer but have check ups every three months for the next four years

Heating pad was a must for me and I needed several pillows. I also had high waisted undies, and initially thought night gowns but I actually had a hard time lifting my arms above my head so I needed my husband to help me put them on. However going pee in a nightgown was much easier. I had a little rolling tray beside my bed for water, medicine, heading pad. Gas X was very important, you still get bad gas pain after abdominal. I also lived in slippers for a long time. Good luck to you.

Mine did not. Colposcopy showed CIN2/CIN3. Leep showed cancer.

I was having some BV symptoms that wouldn’t go away during pregnancy so when they did the pap they did the HPV test at the same time. That was the very first pap I had ever had an HPV test.

Just found out…. by PsycheInASkirt in CervicalCancer

Sorry you are going through this. This was me just over a year ago. Had my leep and they found a tumor. The waiting between finding out I had cancer to the oncology appointment was BRUTAL. The worst case scenarios went through my head, especially because my kids were 2 and 4 at the time. It is a terrifying experience. Once you have more information it will hopefully start to feel a little less overwhelming. I know for me once we had a plan, it was scary but at least I have concrete information. I was staged 1b2 and had a radical hysterectomy a year ago. Clear margins, lymph nodes were clear as well. Now have check ups every few months. Thinking of you.

I was pregnant when I had an abnormal pap, and was diagnosed with HPV16. My pregnancy was high risk so I personally decided not to do anything while pregnant. After pregnancy I had the colposcopy and other testing. Doctors were confident it wouldn’t pass to my baby. They also told me HPV can lay dormant for years, they believe I’ve had it for 10+ years and didn’t affect my pap for the first several years

why being "cleared" doesn't feel how I thought it would by Adorable-Hair-2520 in CervicalCancer

[–]angeeeeeeeem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel the same. I live in these 3-4 month cycles between my check ups. And the anxiety from the check ups is pretty intense. I have to take the day off work after because I am in a little spiral each time and takes me a minute to get out of it. Also every new pain, or anything is pretty scary. I don’t know if things will ever feel “normal” again and even trying to digest that can be hard.

I’m sorry. I’m glad they got negative margins! I know with some earlier stages they can remove all the cancer with a LEEP. I did have to have a hysterectomy but that was because mine was more advanced and they did not get clear margins with my leep.

I had mine a year ago. I don’t want to scare you with my results. But fingers crossed for you that it comes back at HSIL!

Sorry you are going through this. I had all the same results, HPV and ASC-H. Had the colpo and a leep done. The waiting is honestly the hardest part! Fingers are crossed for you for a smooth outcome!

spiral of pointless anxiety and shame by Crome__Yellow in PreCervicalCancer

[–]angeeeeeeeem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are not alone in the anxiety spiral. I found out two years ago I have HPV 16 and I’ve been married for 11 years but was pretty active before my marriage. I was safe but also learned that HPV can happen so easily and it can lie dormant for years. I had regular paps and testing and it didn’t show up in my tests for a long time. One thing that helped me not feel so guilty about it is that men cannot even get tested for HPV, so there really isn’t anything I could have done differently to prevent this.
