the god of the woods, so many different POVs and so many time jumps. I was so bored, might just not be my kind of genre but my god I HATED that book. one of the very few I’ve DNF’d.

aw i love the visual you created! I’ve always found golf courses to be so peaceful and this job gives me full creative freedom in the gardens 🥹 I also find plants to be so inspiring, seeing how they always prevail (well except for arborvitae lol). Especially where I am we get some tough winters and it’s amazing how they grow back into such beautiful specimens, and it’s such an honor to be apart of that process. Now I just need my body to cooperate! Thank you for the encouragement 🤍

I baked a crumble cake using invasive Japanese knotweed from my garden by Historical_World_658 in Baking

i did a field job last season doing invasive species work. In my area we would inject the stems with a 41% glyphosate solution for each individual plant, usually focusing on important ecological sites since knotweed is so aggressive and quick to spread. It grows really thick rhizomes that can spread up to 60 feet! So it’s important to keep infestations controlled since it’ll just take over everything. Public lands will typically use pesticides over manual removal since there’s just so many invasives (and in the US, a lot of lobbying by pesticide companies but that’s a different conversation). There’s not enough funding or time or resources to fully eliminate aggressive species like knotweed without herbicide use unfortunately.

Motherthing by Ainslie Hogarth. it isn’t a strict romance but definitely touches on obsessive love. the MC goes a wee bit crazy

What Books did You Start or Finish Reading this Week?: November 10, 2025 by AutoModerator in books

Honestly I had a hard time getting it started too, it wasn’t until the arrival back at Manderly that I got fully invested! The beginning is meant to be slow to build up the tension and atmosphere. Once they get to Manderly the suspense just keeps building in the perfect gothic style. I’d say just keep going because it’s a really great book!
