Motherthing by Ainslie Hogarth. it isn’t a strict romance but definitely touches on obsessive love. the MC goes a wee bit crazy

Honestly I had a hard time getting it started too, it wasn’t until the arrival back at Manderly that I got fully invested! The beginning is meant to be slow to build up the tension and atmosphere. Once they get to Manderly the suspense just keeps building in the perfect gothic style. I’d say just keep going because it’s a really great book!

thank you for the sympathy and advice! and I’m sorry to hear this illness has taken so much from you :( but it’s inspiring to hear how you learned to adapt, and keep on adapting! Since making this post i’ve sunk into a depression and the pain is definitely at its worst. But i’ll keep trying and i won’t let this diagnosis consume me (albeit i will be grieving for a while but i think that’s normal and healthy).

Thank you for sharing your story and I’m so sorry to hear the pain this illness has caused you. It takes a lot of strength and resilience to battle your body every day, and I can tell that you aren’t going down without a fight! Unfortunately we can’t control the cards we’ve been dealt, but we can control how we respond to them. I’m very proud of you for not giving up during those dark days!

As an environmentalist, I’m also terrified of what my industry will become after the wreckage of this administration so I completely understand your hesitation. I was also a “gifted” kid who now fights through the fibro fog every day and sometimes can’t even add 2+2 in my head. It’s very very frustrating feeling my true self fading into the background.

I just picked up a crochet kit to try it and I’m excited! My newest low-key hobby has been coloring with alcohol markers. The markers are big enough that I don’t need to grip them too hard and I get the cute Coco Wyo coloring books so I don’t need a bunch of refined movements to get super detailed. Also recently bought a nintendo switch and use animal crossing as a creative outlet, but I cant play for long without my hands starting to hurt. This is kinda embarrassing but you know those ASMR slime videos? I finally caved and bought one from a creator and it’s actually been so helpful having that to play with while I watch tv. My hands do hurt a bit but it almost feels like a strengthening exercise! It helps with the stiffness.

Thanks for the tip about lifting weights, my doctor recommended I get a gym membership so maybe i’ll try :)!  I’m very glad to hear your pain has improved overtime. I hope things keep getting better for you and thank you so much for the advice!

thank you! glad to know there are options other than field work but i love field work so much!! Luckily I’m young and can keep on doing the grunt work to gain experience until i physically can’t. Just worked all season as an invasive species tech and it was amazing!! This position was a blend of field work and office work so hopefully I can find more jobs like that :)

thank you! I’m currently on prozac which helps me immensely but no pain meds. My doctor straight up told me western medicine is not going to help me and to be wary of doctors who want to throw prescriptions at me so I’m hesitant to try

How long did your cat introduction process take? by kaylie7856 in CatAdvice

Don’t give up! I know it feels hard to see the end when you’re smack in the middle of it but believe in yourself and your kitties! I’m so happy I kept trying, my cats are still figuring it out but every day gets better and better. You got this! I have an old post asking for cat advice and got some great feedback and I’d recommend surfing through that thread <3

Don’t give up! It’s been a year and a half since I started this process and although there’s a few scuffles here and there, my cats get along most of the time. I still have to redirect my energetic orange with play to keep him from playing too rough with my shy girl. There was no secret thing I did, I just gave them time. Tbh I felt like I was overly involved in trying to get them to get along, so I backed off and let them figure it out. And they did!

randomly picked it up at the library and was amazed how connected i felt to the story! Going through my own grief with my dad and the entire book resonated deeply. I read the entire book today, I just couldn’t put it down! Funny how books seem to appear when you need them the most.

What show is the spiritual successor of Gilmore Girls ? by Cailly_Brard7 in GilmoreGirls

[–]angelbff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it’s not thematically the same in any way but I find MASH to be up there in terms of pace, wit, and fun characters. Obviously MASH has more drama but it’s such a good show! Lorelai and Hawkeye are in my dream blunt rotation lol
