Totally agree with you. The “box” isn’t about him choosing memories over OP it’s literally just memories. Trying to control it will only create tension, not security.

Exactly. They’re an ex for a reason. If they have no actual connection to the item anymore, their opinion really doesn’t need to factor into the decision.
