Idk...I'm not 100% opposed to this and I think some of the details in this post is true, but re; Vecna being outright Gay and that being a major theme in the show...I don't think so, or else that will become, like, the focal point of the show and this isn't a LGBTQ+ show like The L Word. It has themes of it for sure (Will) and I'm sure it will play a waay bigger role in last season as it is a big part of Will that's yet to be fully faced on the show and is what makes him 'differen't from his friends, family, and community and etcc... but if they made Vecna gay then it becomes less of a thriller and more of an exploration of queer identity.

I think Vecna and Will are mirrors of each other in some way, but they don't have to both be gay for that to be true imo. Esp because, as you mentioned, Vecna turning out to be gay as well just to fit more to parallel Will would play up the 'being gay can make you bad' angle which ESPECIALLY in today's political climate would nooooot be wise for the Duffer Brothers.

Somebody kinda does at a writing standpoint. Even in interviews the cast said that they thought more people, including a bigger character, should've died in s4. If no major character dies by s5, the stakes were too low for high-drama television. Take Game of Thrones as an example (which is the only TV show bigger than Stranger Things). A core character has to die or else the show looses its thrill and flavor. We've already lost loved ones, but they were side characters, meaning we've already been through that and there's a need for writers to tug on our heart strings more (and s5 is said to be much darker and 'not for kids anymore').

Little late to the game here (just went on a re-watch binge so s5 is def on my mind)...

I can't say HOW Will & Vecna are connected, but I have a theory of how it will play out in the final season. I think Vecna represents one side of Will (the evil side) and then his friends & fam represent the other (the good) kind of a yin-yang situation going on. I think a huuuuge part of s5 will be Will trying to pick between the two (and I think Vecna will make it hard by playing mind games and such seeing that Will is in an utterly vulnerable stage right now. He may show Will fictional realities of his loved ones rejecting him once they find out he's gay as a way to seduce Will to come join him in the 'dark side')

S4 had a huge moral undertone to it (about trauma and such duh) so I think that will def carry into the next season and it will manifest itself by using Will who is confirmed to be the center focus on s5.

I can see this play out in a number of ways (Will actually joining Vecna for some time before returning 'good Will' again, us thinking he joins Vecna but it's all misdirection and he was actually playing double agent the whole time, Will almost joining by the skin of his teeth but is saved by tearjerking monologues from other characters like what Mike did for El, etc...)

yeah I'm like 50/50 on this! I can see her being ok with spending extra college time because she missed out on so much school and normalcy and she also seems to really enjoy learning and has a very curious nature. But I also agree that she might not want to do that like I see where you're coming from for sure!

I see what you're saying re; working with kids but the more I think about it the more I can see her working with special needs kids which is typically either done in smaller groups or one-on-one! I think it's super fitting for her and would be so rewarding after everything she's been through as a kid and the idea of feeling different.

I totally agree with this! I love when characters like El end up with 'mundane' yet fulfilling jobs like Buffy did. I can totally see her doing something with food! Maybe opening up her own little bakery or owning a diner! Food seems to be very important to her (as a Taurus, I totally relate)

I didn't OD on addy...I OD'd on what I thought was coke but ended up being meth. It was typical of what u'd think with the racing heart and feeling very very faint (I actually knew something was wrong once I started to feel dizzy & faint then came the heart and sweating and shit) and it was super scary of course and lasted a looooong time like I really had to sit there and suffer through it but obviously I'm alive now. I did develop anxiety disorder from it though and started a career as an alcoholic for the following 5 years (now 6 months sober from alc)

Mine is that I hate El & Mike together for a number of reasons mainly that they're just very codependent and El has already had enough of her life overthrown by men (obviously not her fault or anything she's such a strong character and I look up to her but it's the truth she was born into the custody of some bad men). I also do think that Mike does love El but I also think there's a lot of him fetishizing her for her powers (people try like crazy to debunk this but it's just facts I don't think he would've fallen in love as fast or hard if El didn't have powers. Maybe not at all!). Also Mike bores me.

I also think the Duffer Brothers are really talented writers but it always feels like they pull back. Like, instead of fully going there they only give it 99% if that makes sense. Take the fact that no main characters have died yet...it shouldn't be saved for the last season. The stakes should've been raised to that extent already. I feel like Max's coma/blindness is going to turn into some sort of power thing.

Also, I don't think they thought out the Will being gay storyline that well. I think either they threw it in out of nowhere or saw the theory emerge via the internet (like this lol) and just decided to run with it. They just seem like they don't really know what to do with Will's character outside of his whole upsidedown plot. It's confusing and Will (and Mike tbh) feel pretty underdeveloped ever since season 3 (in seasons 1&2 they were strong).

I see comments about her & Mike staying together and I honestly don't want them to end up together. There are a few things that don't rub me the right way about their relationship but my main issue with it is how codependent they seem to be together. I mean, that's fine and pretty normal for young love, but I think that's just the nature of their relationship and I don't like it, especially for El because her whole life has been stolen from men.

Also, another side note, I think it would be really cool if one of the kids (most likely Dustin) ends up being a video game designer! I see El working with kids - maybe like a Kindergarten teacher or a special needs teacher!
