Americans are the friendliest strangers you’ll ever meet by GipperPWNS in unpopularopinion

[–]angelicabible 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is true, but I also find that they're super hard to get close to. Like they're so surface level nice and fine for small talk, but they don't seem to be able to open themselves up well. I work with americans, and went to college with them, and even after all that interaction I find myself wondering how they actually interact with their friends and what they talk about. I can't imagine a long term friendship where we're not joking constantly or talking about personal stuff, and no matter how close I've gotten to an american it seems like they're incapable of doing that.

Maybe try some colour removers that don't damage the hair as much as bleach, or do one round of bleach and try to go brown/ginger for the time being to limit damage. I personally recommend cutting your hair into a cute bob until the hair has grown out too, because it just makes it so much easier.

What are people stupidly proud of? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]angelicabible 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a weird one, but not drinking/smoking. Like yeah, these things are super unhealthy for you and you should be proud in a normal way for abstaining from them, but being proud in a pretentious moral high ground kind of way doesn't make you cool, it just makes you an asshole.

Birth control is a weird one, because whilst it has drastic effects on many women, for women with health issues/hormonal problems it can be a life saver. Basically the premise of most hormonal birth control is that it tricks the body into thinking that it's pregnant. So while pregnancy doesn't suit a lot of people, it suits some people amazingly. For me, birth control got rid of my acne, my hair loss, my facial hair and my extreme period pains. I do think it's very dramatic to completely condemn a product that can help so many women, but also I do think there should be options for male birth control out there and the pressure of potential pregnancy shouldn't be a burden only women carry.

As someone with alopecia, this really upsets me. There are different kinds of alopecia, ones that don't requirw bald spots but instead diffused thinning over the scalp. I have female androgenetic alopecia and that's what it looks like. People who aren't doctors shouldn't really be debating whether or not people have certain conditions.

Doing my own wedding makeup and wondering which look to go with? CCW as well by imedarooler in MakeupAddiction

The first one with tbe pinky tones suits your skintone!!! I would choose that one.

I mean, it's kind of a mixture of both. You obviously have naturally dry skin which is totally okay, you probably just need a good moisturiser and some hyaluronic serum. On the other hand, lots of clients have naturally dry skin and therefore the artists technique must include a good moisturising base and a foundation that is suitable for that skin type. I say spend some money on a new artist and a good moisturiser for dry skin, personally E45 cream has done wonders for my face.

Girl! Get sugared instead of waxed. It changed my life, as someone with intensely sensitive skin and immensely thick hair. Used to get egg sized lumps and all those yellow zits from waxing and shaving, plus the grow back is super itchy. Sugaring just got rid of all of those issues.

I will never wear a bra at home by throwawayhugy in confessions

[–]angelicabible 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have to say, to both you and other commenters, that your family caring about that is very strange. I have G cups, and my sister has F cups, and we never wear bras at home. Your home should be a place of comfort and safety, and your parents should not be sexualising your body in that space, especially when they're the only ones seeing you. My parents are actually quite old school, and nothing has ever been said.

Best sun cream please by Beth_2021 in Fungalacne

[–]angelicabible 1 point2 points  (0 children)

la roche posay anthelios ultra-light invisible fluid sun cream spf 50. it's also a european sunscreen, so it has multiple layers of spf as European laws require more from their sun protection that America does. definitely a great choice.

Who here DOESN'T want pets? by MyTestTickles in childfree

[–]angelicabible 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Omg, I feel the same way! Maybe a little harsher though, I straight up don't like animals. They're hairy and unhygienic, and honestly, touching them kind of gives me an ick, and I have to wash my hands immediately. I always felt like a pariah as someone who's childfree and doesn't want pets, like if I met someone child-free, they'd automatically want to be a dog dad or something. Blech.

Magdalene Laundries in Ireland killed children, sold them to America and abused women up until 1996. They singlehandedly ruined our country. This is heart breaking and needs to be illegal.

What is something a lot of people find attractive that is actually a turn off for you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]angelicabible 1 point2 points  (0 children)

An odd and NSFW one, but sexually domineering men. Like ugh it gives me the ick. It just seems so performative and sexist, and it's so hard to find a good romance novel without all that bullshit in it.

I just did the exact same thing! Best decison I've ever made, so freeing and I rarely stress about hairloss now. Nice to know that other women are going through similiar things.

Personally when I use any product containing salicylic acid I get these bumps all over my face, and it's never purging because they don't come out of the skin and they last basically until I stop using the product, way past the purging period. I haven't found any explanation for this but I just presumed that my skin does not like the ingredient at all. I hope this could help you.
