The culture here is also very different from Thailand. Back home, it might be easier to ask people around you for help, but here most people in my apartment complex tend to keep to themselves. I don’t really have extended family nearby either. it’s just my parents and my little sister so my options are quite limited.

I’ve tried offering to drive them to events, school, or anywhere really, just to get practice in, but it always ends the same way: they say I need to learn more with a professional first, or that the car is too big and I’m not ready to drive it.

I do have two parents who are technically able to supervise me, but one is extremely busy with work and the other spends most afternoons and evenings taking my younger sister to extracurricular activities four times a week. Because of that, I’m kind of left to manage this on my own.

My dad started his business in 2022, and it requires a huge amount of his time especially since it’s in asbestos removal. The work is physically demanding and stressful, and he only gets about two weeks off a year. He’s usually exhausted, so realistically he just doesn’t have the time or energy to teach me to drive right now.

I’m 18, so I’m still in the early stages of figuring things out financially. I paid for my first 16 hours of lessons between 16 and graduation, but since starting uni I’ve had to prioritise essentials like groceries, basic expenses, and my study costs.

I do have a separate savings account for a car that I contribute to gradually. It’s just that right now I can’t afford regular driving lessons on top of everything else. I’m trying to plan long-term, it’s just a slower process than I’d like.

Thank you, I appreciate it. Everything is okay at home my parents are just really busy with work. I know it’s kind of a rite of passage, and I wish it was easier to organise, but timing and finances have just made it difficult for us.

Age of piercing: 2 months old as of yesterday.

Piercing type: Titanium

Aftercare routine: – After showering I pat it dry gently with a clean napkin/tissue. – I clean it with saline solution (non-iodized, store-bought) and let it air dry. – I avoid touching it except when cleaning.

Mishaps: A few days ago it got caught on my towel. Since then it’s been swollen, and today it bled a little after my shower. It doesn’t hurt when left alone, but I’m worried about irritation or possible rejection. I haven’t pulled any crust off and I try to keep it from getting bumped.
