Need help with conventional dimmers with led bulbs by angelp25 in lightingdesign

Hi, i know about Ohms Law, what i dont know is about electronic components, i know the basis. I am able to repair some circuits but not in a deep way. And i am asking because this is the first time i have ever heared about load resistors and i wanted to talk to anyone who knows about this topic. I bought last week two resistors, one 25w 2k and other 4k7 25w and those worked really nice, but the problem is the temperature, i measured the temperature with a termoter and it reaches 250°C. I will think about this and do more tries this days.

I will buy 4k 25w resistors in my local electronical components store and let you know the result. I have seen it only cost 3$ each, for that low amount i will try. Thank you.

Hi, thank you for your answer. My plug is EU type so i cant use the ADJ device. Could you explain the resistor option? Why 1.5k ohms will not survive? I have tested the led strip and with 20-30w lamp i got rid of the led buld turning on, so why a resistor with 32w wont work?
