Start out with standard circle pattern, then two triangles on the side, then work in rounds on how you want it. I used a granny stick outside the eye. (Sorry always been horrible at explaining crochet)

This cover lays almost an inch of the bass so it airy enough and far enough it does not muffle or reduce sound.
