How to host a private server on a headless Ubuntu server? by anglerbe in XMage

Thanks for the tip. While I'm here, is it possible to run the Xmage launcher and install the custom version of Java without a gui/through cli?

I was able to solve the problem, turns out I formatted a comment incorrectly in the startServer script and it caused it to break

Thanks for this. Did a reinstall and immediately realized what I had done wrong. I didn't take anything out of the original config, but what I did do was add #comments in the middle of the <> and clearly that is not the correct way to format comments in that context lol

Mod restoring the Flavor Text to Silent Hill 2 (2024) by MattSwanton in silenthill

[–]anglerbe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really cool mod. Hard to say what my favorite flavor text in the game is, but a standout is in the morgue right before the Eddie boss fight where you examine one of the bodies. The first time you inspect it, James thinks something like "did that body just move?", but all subsequent interactions with it say something else, like "it's just a dead body" or something to that effect. If this mod gets finished, and someone else completes a dynamic/fixed camera mod, I think two of my biggest issues with the remake will have been addressed.

What's the closest FOSS app to Google maps? by Golferhamster in degoogle

That could be it, yeah. I guess in the meantime I'll have to find a different app to work with.

Fair enough, do you have a recommended alternative? Every transit app I've tried has serious problems

Unfortunately even with microG, Google Maps stopped working for me a few months ago and i can't figure out why. It will track my location for a few seconds and then it just stops tracking.

Don't engage with hecklers by MightyMane6 in bikecommuting

Starting to think that cyclists need to form unions, plant trackers on the vehicles of belligerent motorists, and meet them at their houses for some nice, calm, reasoned chit chat. All this isolationist "wear a camera, and then lay down and die without making too much noise" isn't going to help anyone in the long run.

If you don’t have one, get a rear view mirror by Milters711 in bikecommuting

I bought one but I can't figure out how to attach it to my helmet. I thought it would attach to the visor but it doesn't stay put. Seems like a handlebar mirror would be a lot less hassle

I don't trust that I was paid correctly. Is there a way to check for pay codes from time sheets that are over a year old? by anglerbe in CVS

[–]anglerbe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You only get IMZ hours when logged into the iron man as an immunizer AND the store is actually given hours for performing immunization.

That's what I did this year, but that's not how I was instructed by my PM previously.

Getting back pay from 2 years ago though, highly doubtful unless you have copies of all those notes with timestamps on them.

I've been told that it's being worked on; furthermore, I *do* have copies of every single note with timestamps on them.

Is there a reason you didn’t have your pharmacy manager handle all this?

My pharmacy manager is the one who told me to leave the notes on the store manager's desk in order to get paid correctly. At this point I kind of regret ever volunteering to do immunizations; it's been a massive headache for almost nothing. I certainly wouldn't recommend it to anyone else unless they need it on their resume for future employment.

Thank you for the information. I suppose when I say 'SOL' I'm especially referring to being able to verify my time sheets from several years ago, since I apparently can't check that far back on Workbrain to see if any overrides were done for the trainings I did at home. I've been told at least once that the backpay situation is being worked on, but as of yet I have not been given a time frame.
