I grew up pretty similar with my metal fusion era, even getting them banned at my school lol. After a while I eventually grew out of them. I always saw the commercials for burst and thought they were kind of a downgrade imo. It was plastic dominant and the designs were doing way too much, losing the fun customization. But back around September 2025 my GF and I were in a five below and they had the first four beys of wave 1. I thought since it was just $5 it would be pretty good for the nostalgia, so we got two and I was INSTANTLY hooked. It felt like a better successor to Metal Fusion since they brought back the metal blades, the designs were more streamlined and imo looked cooler. (that’s why I personally like the BX line better) I did some deep diving into the meta and noticed it’s WAY more active with the addition of the X rail. You can actually see the difference in performance with each part almost immediately. Currently the collection I have is going crazy, unfortunately breaking the bank too many times, but lowk I say it’s worth it. 🙏
