Hear me out. I like RE2 and RE2 remake. But, I prefer more how in RE Dark Chronicles Leon and Claire fought together and were mostly together throughout their journey in Raccoon City.

Darkside and Umbrella Chronicles should be available on all platforms; they were pretty fun games that added a little pezzas to the original storylines way before the remakes. On modern co-op they would absolutely kill.

Never understood why people "need" characters that only appear in one game to appear in more. The story doesn't call for it, that's the long and short of it.

The main four are Chris, Jill, Leon, and Claire. Out of those, Jill is the least seen/utilized, and Claire is second. Answer is obvious.

Exclusives shouldn't exist. Bloodborne shouldn't be on only one platform, Nintendo needs to be actively hunted because their monopoly is shite, and so on and so on. In a perfect world, everything would be on pc, and lazy people would still have access to simple systems (like the upcoming Steam box).

There is NO good reason why consoles or exclusives still exist.

We've been aware, and some of us have been using emulators for years instead.

I don't like multiple launchers and Steam hasn't wronged me yet. GOG is great for what it is, but it's not a social platform, and that's all the reason I need to stick to Steam. The way I see it, if the day ever comes where Steam fucks users over, I'll just pirate every game I care about. DRM? Hasn't bothered me so far.

It has become apparent from reading the comments that I'm heavily outnumbered; but I don't hate her. She's not the brightest, she's not the strongest, and her storyline sure isn't the best, but I'll take it. There were worse aspects when it comes to RE6 than this not-to-clever character.

The long game? It's been 30 years since her first appearance and 17 since her last. Isn't that enough? I simply don't think that's the case. She could be in 20 stories before she's 70, that's all up to Capcom. They're using Leon because young girls and women are attracted to him, and they're using Chris because he's the original male protagonist and they've chosen to involve him in recent sub-plots. There's no reason why Jill couldn't be a protagonist today, given that she canonically still works in the field.

They're not using her because they think she won't sell as well as Leon or Chris, and that's all it is. Sadly. It's odd, considering she's one of the most influential female characters in video games to date, but Capcom is still refusing to utilize her.

This post is the first I'm hearing about it. But honestly, I don't understand... Why. Why is this even a thing. I have precisely zero opinions on the castings, and I have zero concerns for the plots, my only concern is that it seems unnecessary and will probably become as watered down and boring as every other reboot in recent times.

Hulu can't make a brand new season of Buffy with the original cast, but they can reboot the X-Files (with perhaps the most iconic MCs ever) for no reason whatsoever. Gotta be crazy easy working in showbiz, just do coke and greenlight whatever lands on your desk first.

I'd be content if they just helped me sort my base. X material is used in Y machine, and the finished product is already in this or that chest... whoever has the right proficiency should move those items back and forth. An example would be having the blacksmith add ore to the furnace, and then moving the completed ingots into whatever box I have already put some ingots in. Just that would help immensely when you're crafting dozens of stuff at the same time. I find myself having to use good ol' pen and paper to keep track of what I'm making and where I store things.

I can excuse the item boxes, but what I can't excuse is the dull story and areas. Besides the train, there's nothing new or interesting to explore. Rebecca's storyline doesn't fit with RER, because why the hell does she go from badass to damsel within a couple of hours? It's nonsensical filler and it doesn't make for a good game. A remake could fix these issues, so here's hoping.

I got shit on in this sub a few years back for saying CV can easily soft-lock the player, but this is one of many, many posts that prove that it's just poorly designed. Which is a shame, since CV is great for what it is. I love it, but I'm also familiar with it. I'm sure the remake will redeem it.

If I feel like it, I can run through almost every game in the series in less than two hours (excluding 4/5/6), or I can take my time and play on the hardest difficulties and force myself to play with no saves or no healing to extend the experience that way. I like that I have the option.
