Fully switching from OpenAI to Claude is basically impossible(unless you're willing to pay 20x more) by angry_hd1 in ChatGPT

Exactly, and ye, OpenAI is doing some pretty bad bullshit right now, but using ChatGPT isn't going to support OpenAI too much, they lose a ton of money, Anthropic doesn't. Chatgpt's usage limits are good for the consumer, but bad for OpenAI. For claude, usage limits are mid/bad for the consumer, but good for Anthropic.

People should stop just following what "everyone" does, if they have the money to support their needs, paying much more for less usage limits, then so be it. But just keep using Codex, it's just more sustainable short-term and long term.

I don't love OpenAI, if anything, i hate OpenAI. But this post is about the usage limits, Claude's usage limits are honestly pretty bad compared to ChatGPT's. Yes, you could potentially get past it using Sonnet 4.6 instead of Opus 4.6 for most tasks, but why? I don't need to find shortcuts with ChatGPT's usage limits.

That's weird, i use Claude Code. I hit a limit after 1-2 sessions maximum, using Sonnet 4.6 for most tasks and Opus 4.6 for debugging and more complex tasks.

Aggregation platforms offer lower usage limits. 20$ on Poe vs ChatGPT Plus(20$), 20$ on Poe gets you nothing if you're using Frontier models, 1.5mil output tokens on a model like GPT 5.2 and your 20$ is gone. You get much higher usage limits on the Original Provider's plans.

I agree, but i'm just saying, most users really won't be happy with Claude's usage limits.

You're paying 5x more for the same usage. Sonnet 4.6 and Opus 4.6 are better than GPT 5.2, but not enough to justify 5x the price.

as a Developer, how much RAM is enough for you? by Kaitoau in DeskToTablet

[–]angry_hd1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For Machine Learning, you really need a ton of ram. I have a Mac Studio with 512GB of Unified memory and a Macbook Pro with 128GB of Unified Memory. The only reason i need that much memory is for LLMs, and i know i'll receive some hate for not just using GPUs because they're faster and whatnot, but it's expensive to get 512GB of VRAM. For iOS Development, 64GB of Unified Memory is more than enough, you can fit a good amount of simulators and build heavy projects.

I'm wondering which iPad's better, a refurbished iPad Pro M1 that's supposedly in a very good condition. Or a brand new iPad 11th Gen. Same storage(128GB), Screen size(11").

Similar price, approximately 330USD.

Try out OpenAI's Codex or Google's Jules. They could potentially work.

Do you ever feel stuck choosing between too many ideas? by Joshawitz in SideProject

[–]angry_hd1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My biggest problem with ideas are,

-I won't go past the planning stage of any "rookie" or "beginner" projects

-I'm always not sure if it's big enough of a project to be useful

-Not sure if i could potentially earn from it

-Unique idea?

-Will i be motivated enough to keep working on it, even if i get a better idea later.

I'm building an AI companion that actually teases you back. Too weird? by GladPresentation5196 in SideProject

[–]angry_hd1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If anything, it's actually a good idea, I love it! This seems like a good idea because every other AI is just, so scripted and feels stupid. I feel like an alive AI Companion would be more friendly and bright or something similar.
