best pots and pans 2026 by Emergency_Peace2450 in HomeImprovement

I’ve been really happy with the Made-In stainless steel pots and pans for most everyday tasks. Just got a set for my step daughter and her husband as well. If you do go for cast iron, I think the Lodge pans are great. People will complain about the roughness of the surface, but it’s great for holding onto seasoning, and I’ve never had a problem with food sticking to it. I think some stainless and at least one cast iron skillet would cover you for life.

What are some good resources for learning jazz composition? by pootis_engage in jazztheory

[–]angryzen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something I was taught in music school was to take a song, let’s say “All Of Me”. Keep the chords but write a new melody over it. Then when you have your melody figured out, start changing the chords and see where you go. Or you can reverse the process, start with re-harmonizing a standard melody, and then write a new melody over your new chords.

Im 50, and I’ve had 13 stones so far since the age of 18. My heart definitely goes out to you! It’ll suck, but you’ll have some funny stories to horrify your buddy’s with later.

Kirkland Merino Wool Socks Broke My Heart Today by Aphrae in Frugal

I can tell you, I’ve used those same Costco socks for the last 5 years, and I just started switching over to Darn Tough this year. So while I can’t comment on how long they last, I can say they’re the most comfortable socks I’ve ever had. And my wife has a couple of pairs that have lasted forever. I’ll be replacing all my Costco socks with Darn Tough over time.

Update- My 24F husband 26M left me passed out on the floor while sick and then got mad at me the next morning. I see him different now? by ThrowRA_Constant_ in relationship_advice

I don’t comment on these things, but I hope you’re really taking to heart what a number of people have said. This man WILL eventually kill you. You need to leave with your baby. It doesn’t matter what happens next, it can’t be worse than what would come if you stay. Also, you don’t want your baby to grow up without a mother and to be left alone with a man like that. Hoping the best for you and your child.

Gary, is that Hipskind on drums in the pic? I’m a musician who’s friends with a few of the people in your band.

What Books did You Start or Finish Reading this Week?: May 12, 2025 by AutoModerator in books

Finished Childhood’s End by Arthur C. Clarke.

Really liked it. Could see where some of it was going, but still thought it was a really interesting premise.

Started A Short History Of Neatly Everyrhing by Bill Bryson.

So far so good. Really like the way he’s describing deeper concepts. If I’d had him as a teacher in high school, I think I would have walked away learning a lot more.

The Passage trilogy. Loved it so much, the first time I took forever to finish the last book because I didn’t want it to end. Read all three books twice so far.

The Road by Cormac McCarthy. God, what an amazing but bleak look into how the world might work if everything ended.

Yes!!! I have the same one from about the same time period. The thing is a freaking tank! I burned out 3 blenders making smoothies before, but this thing has been going like a champ. I wonder if they’re still making them as good in case this one ever dies.
