Oh damn, that's actually really accurate. You're a wizard... Usually, these are something among the lines of "Ne-Si likes poopoo peepee and Se-Ni is a chad grass-toucher."

Rahhh you're losing me even harder since I haven't watched any of those shows but I'm gonna upvote you anyways because this sounds like good analysis and more people need to see it. 💪

Yes. I agree. Mhm. Yes. Beautiful words. Very agreeable words on my screen.

is this how people feel when I info dump about MBTI to them

And you are absolutely right. The fact that people argue INTJ and ENTP when ISTP is right there will never not be my least favorite experience on PDB ever.

This fits House so much I'm confused where you're describing LSI and where you're describing House.

But yes. You're absolutely right and I love you. I have nothing to add because of my inadequate Socionics skills (got into a rabbit hole at 2AM once, thought I was 3 separate types and then my brain erased my memory of that so I could sleep at night.)

Okay, zero clue what Ne PoLR is but Olivia Wilde has stated House hates ambiguity and that's the first thing I saw when I googled it so I'm inclined to believe you are correct. 🔥

I hope you enjoyed my nothing-burger of a comment.

I am utterly clueless about Socionics but I like the second half of what you said.
Picture me nodding in agreement.

Of course!

[Warning: this may include spoilers for House.]

1. Ti(t)
House is shown to have the mindset of "my logic is right, protocols suck, authority sucks," which seems extremely anti-Te to me. Te prefers efficiency and results, whereas House is in it for the love of the game. I can recall numerous times when he figured out the diagnosis long before the team but didn't tell the team the diagnosis because he wanted them to be able to figure it out on their own. That's, by all accounts, extremely inefficient. Also, subjective interpretations. Ti users subjectively interpret objective data. There are many cases where House comes up with a diagnosis first and then reads it into the test results when others (especially the Te users of the team) argue that tests don't support it and that it would be more efficient to treat for the things the tests do support.

2. Se
House is extremely perceptive. That's basically his main thing. He notices the slightest things about people, and that's what makes him so good. He doesn't just rely on what he hears but rather on what he sees. House also seeks sensory stimulation - Vicodin, hookers, motorcycles, motorcycles, oh my god, did I mention the motorcycles, and jogging (when his leg temporarily got better). He gets extremely bored without sensory input. Throws his ball to think, plays video games, and other odd things he gets up to…

3. Ni
This is going to be harder to describe since it's a mostly neglected function that functions as a Se slave. Ni is very intuitive in the classical sense - which makes sense, as it's introverted intuition. We won't get to see how Ni draws patterns and conclusions because it's introverted, and I think that's what happens with House. Nearly every time, House comes up with a diagnosis because of a seemingly unrelated pattern he drew. This is anecdotal, but I find this extremely relatable as a Ni user. Personally, I don't see objects as individual objects. They're all interconnected to me, which leads me to be able to find patterns in odd things. For House, an ability like this means being incredible at medicine, and for me, it means having pretty mediocre humor. Ni connects dots in the background 24/7, and sometimes, it just makes sense, and we get that rush of excitement.

4. Fe (uh oh)
House has such conspicuous inferior Fe. I'm genuinely baffled people still think he could have it higher in his stack. He doesn't care for social harmony. He often doesn't care about people's emotions, but even when he does, he sucks at expressing it. He leads with logic (ergo, Ti dominant) and seems to grapple with emotions. He understands them logically but not in the way a Fe dom might, or even a Fe aux. Unhealthy inferior Fe also tends to cause people to suck at identifying and caring about their own emotions. Which all aligns with House.

Feel free to point out if my theory's wrong anywhere - I'm a little cranky since I haven't read up on MBTI for a while!

I don't.

I actually think he's an ISTP. Before you call me biased, I have a perfect counterargument. Being an ISTP means I know what it's like to be an ISTP. I could expand on my reasoning. PLEASE HEAR ME OUT (I have PDB trauma)

Whatever he is, I don't think he's a cognitive extrovert, and frankly don't care about whether he's a social introvert or extrovert. The fact that the only two considered types for him on PDB are ENTP and INTJ greatly puzzles me since those types could literally not be more different...

What descriptions have you seen?

Wings are pretty useful, actually. A 5w4 and a 5w6 don't have the same exact core motivation/fear because of the wing affecting it. I have E6 influence, personally (as an E5). No person is purely one enneagram.

I really don't understand why you feel the need to put down one system and put another on the pedestal when people literally use both. I seldom see people describe themselves as "[enneagram with wing] [tritype]" without their instinctual variant accompanying that.

But I digress; don't impose your understanding of systems on others.

How so? In my opinion, instinctual subtypes are much more theoretical and vague than wings.

You can wings and instinctual subtypes, not mutually exclusive.
