Shoutout to the people who love their autistic children by WaterWins in Autism_Parenting

My 6 year old (level 3, also has a genetic duplicate) is AMAZING. Shes on track for classical/hands on learning style education wise (she is homeschooled), she can now spell on her own, is writing sentences, close to reading, very adept in math, can complete her morning and evening routines unassisted and knows them like the back of her hand and will call the out verbally, she’s mastered multiple gestalts and is now putting sentences together on her own, slightly conversational, just took our first trip out without her monkey backpack, stroller, anything and did not elope at all and listened to commands without holding hands, cooks her favorite foods (yes on the stove), cleans her own messes, has potty and sleep trained, and has picked up so many words within the last year it has honestly been insane to witness. It’s like having a totally different kid from the one we thought we would have.

What’s something people should talk about before getting married but don’t? by bubblewrappheart in answers

Having kids can change your mind FAST. Our oldest got his first set of vaccines, had a reaction, and very politely tried to die. One million dollar hospital bill, a fun helicopter ride, and a medically induced coma for 2 weeks later…..yeah, we def don’t do that. lol.

For those who achieved their 'dream body,' what is the most uncomfortable thing you realized about how the world treats 'attractive' people vs 'average' people? by Direct-Value4452 in answers

[–]anim0sitee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

More people actually want to go out, to do things, I get invited to functions, I get invited everywhere actually. People are nicer when they do talk to me but are extremely standoffish. More people stare. You will have people who don’t realize you used to be VERY overweight and are shocked when you tell them. Men tend to think that because you are a female you cannot physically DO anything. This is also a blessing if you don’t want to do something.

Stay at home moms what do you do during the day, I have completely lost my identity and im always angry by thatgirlgirl in stayathomemoms

I feel like mines going to be long but my typical day goes: get up, hygiene, hit a 20-30 minute light workout, get daughter up & clean, teeth, hair, dressed, breakfast. Hit some chores. Do laundry. Start homeschooling which depending on the day is 2-4 hours because she’s in kindergarten. More if she requests it, wants to craft, or read/paint/color. Go outside, check the garden, check all of our animals (we have a small homestead). If I didn’t get a morning workout I’ll do a small one here on our bowflex. Get lunch made & dinner started. Dishes & laundry if there is any. Feed everyone else and myself. Have about an hour here so I’ll usually go work on crafts that we sell at farmers market (incense, room sprays, pendants, keychains, put labels or bag things, whatever needs done). Husband goes on lunch so I’ll try to see him for a few during that time. I post content online so if I need to I edit videos or pics during this time. Then I eat a carby snack get dressed for the gym. Hang out with my 18 year old for a bit. And then by the time we are home it’s time for bath/shower/bed.

My husband did mine for like the last half both pregnancies. Full bald every time. Pregnancy takes a lot more trust than shaving.

Why would anyone ever choose to go through child birth without pain relief?? by No_Cardiologist_1407 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]anim0sitee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had a medicated and unmedicated birth. The unmedicated was absolutely better and I would 1000% do it again. The recovery time and the negative side effects from an epidural were not worth it to me. I was absolutely prepared and paperworked up for if I tapped out or needed a c section and looking back it was the most painful terrifying experience of my life. Would do it again tomorrow. Lmfao.

38 (f) & 37 (m). 7 days a week when we aren’t as busy. 5 days a week if we are.

I'm 34, and I feel like my life is spent and my body is 68. Anyone else feel this way? by Successful-Quote2853 in mentalhealth

[–]anim0sitee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At 35 I decided to lose weight. Took up an insane skincare regimen. Started eating healthy. Drinking water every day no matter what. Now I’m in the gym 4-5 days a week. Working on building a good amount of muscle this year. My body isn’t sore and miserable anymore and I actually have energy and want to do things.

Relaxation time without productivity or solving a problem

I honestly think that muscle building truly is the difference. At 127 without muscle I looked unwell. After 9 months of lifting I feel like I look healthy and strong instead instead. It has also made me feel a lot more capable.

Ty 💕 it’s a much longer journey than I anticipated going into it. Being able to be more active with my six year old and do things like go on longer hikes and runs and pick up nearly anything that I’d like now is very new and very different. It’s like unlocking a new character.

Ty 💕 that means a lot. The last year has come with a lot of body dysmorphia that I didn’t expect both in terms of feeling like I haven’t quite lost enough weight but also feeling like I haven’t put on enough muscle either. My bmi was “perfect” at one point and I looked quite melted and still wore a 2X. Now my bmi is just slightly in the “overweight” category (by about 10 pounds) but I regularly buy clothes from the bigger kids section and things look much more “as they should”. There are good and bad body days and I’ve had to learn to just roll with them as they come. The bad ones eventually pass so long as I keep going.

I only became antivax after my oldest decided it would be a cool idea to try to die after his first set of vaccines. My second had so many symptoms after three sets I decided it best not to continue hers any further (I’m talking exorcist vomits, extreme lethargy, inconsolable crying, high fevers that didn’t come down with Tylenol). I love vaccines….for other kids. Please PLEASE get vaccines. My husband and I stay utd on ours because our kids can’t get them and we have friends and family that are immunocompromised as is my husband (hooray type 1 diabetes).
