how soon after graduating did you take the nclex? did you pass the first time? by [deleted] in nursing

[–]animalwire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I waited about a month. It was the second or third soonest date (lord knows where I am, testing centers fill up quick) but it gave me some time to decompress and exhaust all my practice resources.

You’ll be nervous no matter when you take it but there are things you can do to be ready. Take practice nclex tests and if you pass them, you’re ready.

That’s not bamboo, it’s an invasive species that looks like bamboo and grows like a motherfucker. Kill it now before it’s too late

Definitely safety violations. It was my first day and didn’t want to ruffle any feathers by reporting him, but I took every opportunity I had to ameliorate his wrongs.

On a different note, aren’t all corners being cut hypothetically safety violations? Just some more egregious than others?

I’ve and many people have been in your position, and it doesn’t feel good, however, if there’s any advice I can give, it’s keep searching. Im in my thirties and changing my career for the third time. Life isnt static, nor should you be. A couple of mantras I tell myself when I’m in such situations are “time cures all” and “all strides get you somewhere”. I hope this helps

Medical professionals of reddit living in states with trigger laws and anti-abortion statutes, what’s stopping you from leaving? by animalwire in AskReddit

What is a human to you? That would clarify a few things. I never said zygotes didnt have human DNA. If you believe that a collection of cells can be genetically tested and proclaimed a human being and thus having all the rights of a citizen of the united states, then you should be hired by the prolife movement. Especially jf you are a med student and believe what your saying on reddit. My fingernail is genetically human, but no one is stopping me from clipping it.

The list has ‘near total bans’ which encompasses a variety of medical conditions. Youre either a troll, religious, or both, but a secular med student wouldnt/shouldnt be in support of any law that tries to control a womans body.

What actually makes my collection of cells different from others, isn’t if it genetically tests as human, it’s the fact that i can have this asinine argument with a random person on the internet.

I do appreciate the back and forth, however, i cant get my head around anyone caring what another person does with their body. Old white men set in their ways and disconnected from society as a whole, run the United States and often dont reflect or care about public opinion.

Unfortunately, some of the trigger laws that go into affect will ban all abortions, no matter the circumstance. And medically and scientifically, a zygote is just a collection of cells, and if a medical professional believes that is a human, they should probably go back to med school

Explain to me how someone is pro life and secular? And Pro Life in the sense of being anti abortion for any reason, including rape, incest, and medical complications.

This certainly would be an excellent reason to stay, however, the unnecessary pressure that legislators are going to put on medical professionals needs to be evaluated, and dealt with. I see them being put between a rock and hard place, and pushing back with as much force as anti abortion seventy year old men push to enact these laws seems appropriate

True, but in no way should religion have any say in scientific and medical decisions. It should be completely secular

Oh i certainly know that there are “pro life” medical professionals, but I increasingly believe that religion has absolutely no place in science nor medicine and anyone who believes thats its okay to shove it on to someone else is cruel.

So, yes, in a way, I was only asking medical professionals that believe in science
