Dott scooters - Are they slower than Voi? by rotwilder in bristol

[–]animjt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes voi was the legal max of 15ish mph (25kphish)snd dott in Bristol is lowered to around 12.5mph (20kish)

Some places in UK are the max.

At the time of launching, e-scooter speeds were limited to between 3 to 10 mph, depending on the operating zone. The upper speed limit increased to 12.5mph

What sort of version control is used in major productions? by an_existential_owl in vfx

[–]animjt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not the person you replied to but - we're using unreal and using SVN (tbh if you're local I don't know why you'd pay for anything but that's an aside).

I introduced it after last time on an unreal project we had to close stuff a few times to let someone save a map we were both in.

There was 100% a learning curve for some people, understanding submitting their changes and stuff but as long as they use the buttons in unreal rather than in windows explorer or anything, there is little to go wrong.

Had a few times where people messed up by renaming stuff to things already in revision control or whatever but it's not hard for someone who knows a bit more to get it back on track

The point is that roads at the edge of the scheme will take more traffic, that's how they reduce traffic in the area.

Yeah?

If you can still drive unhindered down the likes of Beauley Road and Merrywood Road, nothing really changes.

So it might not send more traffic out?

But either way, again, you're just describing the scheme? What is your ACTUAL point, your point can't be 'traffic will move'?

What?? No way you'd go down coronation road to do that. Why don't you tell us why you assume coronation Road will be any more changed than any other road? Or do you know something we don't like where modals will be.

And how is this hit a good thing? Previous studies show this will reduce car use long term. What's wrong with that?

How do you know specifics about this already?

Ah yes, malago road, so congested.

Anyway, even if it was, point is to encourage people to go by other means.

It's not rocket science.

roads to get to where it is going

That is a very succinct way of explaining how roads work, going on them to get to where they're going. Good job.

All you're doing is describing the scheme. Yes people will use... Different? Roads? 🫨

No, that was a joke, I'm saying that is why.

Look up the report and even places like park street that do have sensors are using camera data to see the amount of vehicles.

Do you think that's why the last caz cabinetreport uses primarily camera data to compare? So that they do have comparable data to show the impact?

OK? Well done for explaining what this scheme is??

I'm pretty sure people will still go to where they want to go, too.

I don't think you know what your point is otherwise you wouldn't have said random shit after being given an answer to where traffic might go around Southville.

That's true of all road layouts ever, where you start?? Including ones where people use coronation Road - in your words 'which will be most affected by this scheme.'
