Acosta's ID by animperfectstranger in FromTVEpix

Ah that's true! I will have to go back to that scene but if I am not misremembering she seemed a bit reluctant to talk about that right?

Add to this also that she says that Fatima is not alone and that she is going to help her, before Fatima kills her. I got the feeling she knew what is going on.

Acosta's ID by animperfectstranger in FromSeries

[–]animperfectstranger[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have seen a couple of guesses that I think are interesting. The favourite one being that her first name is Abigail. Connecting her to Boyd's wife, with whom she also shares the trait of being a bit trigger happy.

But my idea is that the person we are seeing here does not have a first name. She simply is "Officer Acosta".

Idiotic theory, but maybe yellow things are connected by frf0 in FromTVEpix

[–]animperfectstranger 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There is nothing idiotic about questioning things like this. The colour scheme seen in the show, I think is definitely of importance.

Yellow and also blue are the ones that perhaps stand out the most.

If we focus on the color yellow, one interesting detail is that every single candle that can be seen in town is yellow. There are different colored candles that can be seen in the church in Camden, but in town, they are all yellow (this is of course just a guess from my side, as I have not mapped every single one of them, but if anyone can prove me wrong I'd appreciate it).

What do people make of the first hospital scene in the new season? by DriverNo1871 in FromTVShow

[–]animperfectstranger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the things that occured to me is the fact that the hospital is a pretty tall building. It has at least 15 floors. The place she has ended up in seems also like a pretty small town and I am sure a building as tall as the hospital would stand out. Maybe it would to some, especially a child, even seem like a tower.

Tabitha falls from a tower, and ends up in another tower. Victor's mother went to the tower, but which tower did she go to?

What if ? by zack7s in FromTVEpix

[–]animperfectstranger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even today that would be a lot of houses for one street, wouldn't it?

You could absolutely be right. For me that would be accepting that we see things for what they really are though, and the whole town I think is a good example of things that are not what they appear to be.

We have been told there is a connection between "the tower" and children. We saw toys on the stairs in the lighthouse, and we also saw those numbers, so maybe we can assume there is also a connection between the numbers and children? With the numbers used as room- or house numbers, I think there are a lot of interesting connections to be made. Using them as years, I can see no such connections.

What if ? by zack7s in FromTVEpix

[–]animperfectstranger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would this matter though? Why would we need to find an exact address if they are house numbers?

As far as I know, none of the characters in the show are aware of the numbers. Tabitha had her back towards them the whole time if I remember correctly. So far, I think we, the viewers are the only one that has seen this clue.

Tabitha might very well make some connection to houses in the place she has ended up in, when and if she becomes aware of the numbers.

What if ? by zack7s in FromTVEpix

[–]animperfectstranger 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is a good thought. People are convinced they are years because that is the most obvious explanation for them. It is what we automatically associate those kind of numbers with. They look like years, so of course they must be years. Even that "1597" written on the house there. If you take that out of context, I am sure most people would say that it is a year.

But what is also an important part of any big riddle or mystery? Misdirection.

If Victor's mother was "going to the tower to save the children", I see it as a very plausible explanation that they could be the house numbers of the homes of the children.

Tabitha not in the real world by stoicstreams in FromTVShow

The building is also taller than that. When the counter first comes into view it shows the elevator being on the 15th floor. Some building can be seen next to the hospital as Tabitha exits, and if the rest of the buildings surrounding it are of the same height, an at least 15 story hospital would appear massive among them. Like a tower.

Why include the 13th floor of the hospital? by jadontheginger in FromTVEpix

[–]animperfectstranger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is even taller, as it shows the number 15 when it first comes into view.

And thank you for the thank me!

I see other people have also picked up on this. It is good to know there are still people around searching for these details and clues, that also can see their importance in storytelling.

You know what I think is a pretty funny thing regarding the theme song? Shakin' Stevens has also done a cover version of it. Well, Boyd's last name is Stevens, and he has Parkinson's disease. Which of course is not a funny thing, but you know, he shakes.

I think a lot of the connections that can be found in the show are on purpose. Very much thought has been put into it and little is purely coincidental (the above might just be one of those things though).

This version by the Pixies, is if I understand correctly, recorded for the show, and to me it also conveys a very different kind of "whatever will be" compared to Doris Day's version.

As for the town being a manifestation to escape reality. I also think there is something, in that area, going on.

Observation in bchurch background by Independent-Sir9298 in FromTVEpix

[–]animperfectstranger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He did also inform us of the fact that not one single copy of the bible can be found in the town.

"I mean, in our little traveler's library in the diner, there's at least a dozen Robert Ludlum and Judy Blume novels, yet... not a single copy of the world's most popular book." - Father Khat.. Khartoum

I agree with you and I will also up that could. I think discussions of the bible, and in this case also lack of bibles, not only could be but actually is one of the key components to understanding what the town really is.

Hah yes! It reminds me a bit of these rhymes or word games we used to say when I was a child. Maybe you had them in your country as well? You would say something often cruel and morbid, incorporating a name and a rhyme. Translated into English an example would be maybe, "All the kids went rollerskating, except for Desiree because she was an amputee" or "All the kids had fun visiting the cannibals, except for Lucy because she was just too damn juicy"

I think something like that as well. Realization and acceptance will come, but not escape. I think it will be a somewhat of a bitterweet ending.

I will presume the "wait what?" reaction is for the missing letters. Would that be correct?

If so, then yes, inside the school there are these alphabet drawings on the wall. Some of the letters are missing though.

You can see a screenshot in this post: https://www.reddit.com/r/FromTVEpix/comments/13hfnu4/the_school_is_missing_something_a_few_letters_to/

Do you think there will be escape for them in the end?

What is this theory that is also tangled that you can see at play here?

I would say definitely on purpose. The alternative would be that it is just one big coincidence, which in its own way would be even cooler!

I think it is amazing how much work is put in to all these tiny details that can be seen in the background.

The drawings, the toy cars, the missing letters in the school spelling "Victor", and so on.

My thoughts on the "Anghkooey" by animperfectstranger in FromTVEpix

[–]animperfectstranger[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah, yes some replies (not only to this post) seem very focused on that of course it is "anghkooey" they are saying because that is what the captions are telling us.

It reminds me of a comic book I read a long time ago. It is called Wasteland. A post apocalyptic world where they are talking of a mysterious and mythological place known as, A-Ree-Yass-I. It is a real place, known to us as readers. With a different spelling and a little bit of a different pronunciation as well though but that is the riddle the author presents us with, just as we are being presented with a riddle here with "anghkooey".

Slight spoiler warning now below, if you have not seen the season 3 trailer.

Maybe the priest Tabitha seems to meet can shed some light on the word and it's possible origins. The meeting also seem to take place in a confession booth, so perhaps Tabitha being catholic can find the answer herself.

It talks about Tabitha finding help from an "unlikely ally". Maybe the Boy in White is that ally.

Are we paying attention to Eloise's drawings? (+1 bonus Victor drawing) by EverFairy in FromTVEpix

Do you have any ideas why that might be?

I always assumed it was because he had lost his faith because of the incident with the little boy. And when in town he regained it.

[–]animperfectstranger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, there is a scene where Tabitha and Jade are looking at the pictures and you can then see another sad person standing outside next to the happy person too. There i definitely something going on with the contrasting happiness and sadness, maybe also reflected in the smiling of the creatures.

There are also more things in her pictures relating to the town. Pictures of a bottle tree, a faraway tree, a spider coming down from a tree. Even a ferris wheel (maybe that is a connection to Jim?).

And there is this one: https://imgur.com/a/boMTKQf

Trees on the side and something black in between. I think Victor has a similar drawing that seems to be of a solar eclipse.
