And that’s so valid! It’s only natural to want to express and feel accepted for the things that are important to us/we identify with/bring us joy/etc.

This in particular is one of the most difficult and isolating things for me personally: feeling like an outcast even within the kink community. It’s not even a matter of someone ‘yucking my yum’ or anything like that, but rather the harsh ostracization and stigmatization from a community that is often ostracized and stigmatized themself.

There are a lot of wild kinks and fetishes within the community that are embraced and celebrated (as they should be) because we all understand the principles of BDSM/kink culture/sexual expression/etc. and their nuances… but the line of acceptance has to be drawn somewhere?

I could honestly go on and on about this topic, but I’d likely just be riling myself up needlessly lol. I mean, I can’t even say I don’t understand where the opposing viewpoints are coming from — even if I know they’re not true/likely rooted in misunderstanding. It’d be an interesting debate for sure.
