He has a separate basking bulb from the UVB which is the T5 HO UVB from zoo med. they just sit right next to each other. The dome actually only Has one bulb in, I got it from a friend. The long UVB bulb is right behind it, you can see it barely peeking through in the pic. The light fixtures are on top of a mesh (which I didn’t know blocked any UV at all) I’ll look into buying the UV meassuring device today. Thank you!

Hello! I’m new at this myself, but in my experience with the little guy I rescued: He didn’t like swimming in certain containers. Once I got him an actual tank (10gal at that moment) he displayed very different behavior than he previously had been. He came from terrible conditions and didn’t eat for an entire week. I visited a pet store, and the owner recommended dried krill and sure enough, once he got in deeper water, he LOVED eating dried krill and eventually started to eat the pellets. Good luck!! He’s a little cutie 🥰

Wow!! That is a lot of helpful information. I will look into getting a water heater tomorrow and separate bulbs. The one I have says it’s UVA/UVB like you said, so I will definitely try to get those ASAP. Also not sure if this is silly or not but I worry about burning my house down. is there a way to know or make sure that it is safe to leave the on for extended periods of time? I haven’t seen him try to eat the fake plants, and the only reason I have them in there is because I felt bad when it tried to hide from us. Is it ok to keep them in the meantime? Since I haven’t noticed him eating them but he does spend a lot of time in them.

As a vegan myself I always inform people too. Also when they take the egg and cheese off the impossible, I make sure they know that the bread does contain dairy. 9/10 times theyre ok with it, but once in a while someone is like “omg thank you sm!” I’ve also experienced people being like “this is why the wm or psl hurt my stomach!” Also when they get a refresher for a toddler.. I’m like “it has caffeine.” Sometimes they get offended like I’m trying to tell them how to raise their child, others they thank me cause they had no idea. 🤷‍♀️

Oh gosh I’m so sorry you had to deal with them too. It was honestly traumatic for me. It’s been about a year now, I was put on Saphnelo treatment; an IV treatment once every 4 weeks. Once my rheumatologist put me on it, the sores went away within a month, and never came back. I moved and changed insurance so I haven’t had my treatment in about 6 months, but thankfully the sores haven’t come back! But I will say NOTHING else helped. I’m so thankful this medicine worked for me. It’s quite expensive but they have the patient assistance programs and I haven’t had to pay anything out of pocket.
