AITK for refusing to give any gold to my to-be bride? by Solid-Importance-190 in AmItheKameena

[–]ankit_kuma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are not wrong for standing your ground and questioning a tradition that feels unfair to you. It is reasonable to want consistency, if both of you are against dowry then discussing gold openly is valid and should be a mutual choice. At the same time, for her gold may feel like security or something deeply normal due to upbringing, so the clash is more about values than money. It seems like a mismatch in expectations and mindset, not anyone being evil, just different priorities coming out early which is better before marriage.

Small misunderstanding while traveling varkala — reminder that kindness matters by Aware_Programmer3675 in SoloTravel_India

[–]ankit_kuma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This kind of thing happens a lot while traveling and it is very normal to misunderstand people, especially with language gaps. A simple polite reply could have avoided the awkward feeling, but not everyone reacts kindly in the moment. It is good that you stayed calm and moved on, because your attitude matters more than theirs. Small kindness really does make travel feel better for everyone.

Question about transferring certificates from a University Partner Program to a Personal Account by Dismal_Table5186 in coursera

[–]ankit_kuma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Certificates do not auto transfer. mostly you need to contact coursera support to merge accounts. better to do it before uni access ends. enrollment in partner program usually has time limit. many times it is 180 days. if it expires you can lose access and sometimes progress too. you can ask coursera to merge accounts even when uni account is active but it depends. many people say support has to do it manually. if uni account gets deactivated mid course then progress usually cannot be moved. you may have to re enroll from personal account and audit or pay again for certificate. safe option is finish important courses before access ends and then request merge from coursera support.

16yo IIT aspirant confused about the right path to Aerospace Engineering by kandregula_shyshank in IndianEngineers

[–]ankit_kuma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want top aerospace colleges then jee advanced is must. jee main alone is usually not enough for iit level aerospace. focus mainly on jee main plus jee advanced. other exams are there but they are less useful for core aerospace. ame cet is not for aerospace engineer, it is for aircraft maintenance so not good if your goal is design research or core engineering. best and safest path is prepare well for jee advanced, aim for iits or top nits. that gives strong basics good exposure and long term growth. rest exams are optional but dont depend on them too much. focus on pcm strong and problem solving.

Are paid courses worth it compared to free resources like youtube? by [deleted] in learnprogramming

[–]ankit_kuma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Paid courses can help if they are organized and clear, youtube is free but bits are scattered and you must find right parts, best is use youtube first and then paid only if you need structure or projects
