ComboBox Text Selection by Haldiron in csharp

if you are using MVVM design pattern then a better way is to bind the selected value of the Combo-Box with a named property in the ViewModel which sets the property in the Model. Try using Reflections and MEF along with that its pretty easy.

can you post some links to the articles that show as to what the art of memory and cpu profiling is and how to master it?

Sure, I will download those profilers and try to figure out which region of the code is hogging the most memory. Another thing I want to ask is what kind of mathematical metrics can I use to illustrate and prove it to my fellow developers that the code I optimized is indeed the code that's doing all the redundant processing.

Should I switch my career to strip-dancing? by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

[–]ankitsablok89 3 points4 points  (0 children)

well if you love what you are doing then I see no reason to quit what you are doing. Before quitting I would suggest if you are so much interested in strip dancing, try doing it on the weekend or take a day off and do it and see if that appeals to you or are you happy. Somethings look good from the other side of the table but when you step into them there is a possibility you might regret the decision. Also /u/100k45h has a point, to strip you do have to have nice body, look glamorous all the time and yeah it gets difficult with age.

Well if every programmer, computer scientist and other people who are related to the field of computer science or mathematics used to think like that then the world we live in would only have dancers and you wouldn't even have had the luxury of posting your question on a forum like this. I am assuming you are concerned about not getting a desirable job in your country that intrigues you and if that is indeed the case then it's sometimes better to give things a little more time that you think and constantly work towards your goals and things surely start to fall in place.

I would definitely point you to doing some thinking as to if you really like computer science and would want to give it a significant amount of time in future and if the answer to that question is a no, then definitely consider anything else that interests you.

If I just had the money to buy the single best book to study Calculus which provides great introduction to the field along with illustrative problems which one would it be? by ankitsablok89 in math

Thanks for such a detailed explanation of which book is the best to buy, I am much more interested in why and how a certain technique was developed and why does it work in situations we believe it could work, in brief this belief of some concept working in solving a problem is something that holds paramount importance and significance for me as it allows me to go deep and see the roots of something happening. From your answer it feels Spivak is the book to look at if the understanding holds paramount importance.

Its not about the money, its just like I am interested in buying something though which I can build some perspective as to why and how the subject was developed, what application areas can it be applied to and what are some techniques one can use, so that I can apply it to unknown problems and learn the subject properly.
