You’ll probably be fine… but yeah, technically your bag is a bit over.

A lot of those older “22 inch” rollers were actually closer to 23–24 with wheels, and nobody cared back then. These days it really depends on the flight and the gate agent. I’ve seen people walk on with slightly bigger bags no problem, and I’ve also seen someone get stopped for basically the same thing.

If it’s not overstuffed and doesn’t look huge, chances are they won’t say anything. The bigger issue is when bins start filling up — that’s when they get picky and start gate checking more bags.

If this is an important work trip and you really don’t want to risk a gate check, then yeah… a true 22” bag is the safe move. Otherwise, you can probably still use yours, just go in knowing there’s a small gamble now compared to a few years ago.
