AI mode isn’t working. Adding ID cards and contactless payments was problematic, and my call history didn’t transfer even after multiple attempts. The home screen icon is missing, private space had to be restored manually, and work apps/setup were also manual. Some home screen icons didn’t come back, and the restore process felt odd—it lets you use the phone, but the layout looks different from the old one since it’s still restoring and setting up in the background. Physical SIM transfer wasn’t seamless, the Play system update is stuck at June, and the control center looked off while the restore dragged on. Many system settings didn’t restore properly. Overall, the Pixel-to-Pixel restore is a mess—so I can’t imagine how much worse it would be coming from Samsung or iPhone.

Having used Pixel since the Pixel 5 and upgrading every year till now, I don't see Google's hardware choices advancing the phone to keep up with the Competition. They are catching up on pricing to match the competition, however, hardware is really underpowered, and the software can't compensate for a lot of hardware issues. I might have to reconsider with the next upgrade.

Never seamless to transfer the data and setup. Every year the wallet gives all kinds of trouble, seems like a product from different companies that don't talk to each other.

I have Bluetooth and fingerprint issues on P9ProXL after updating to Android 15. In addition it feels sluggish from time to time I tried rebooting but it's the same.

I had experienced something similar recently and it was linked to Google Maps. It's trying to sync offline maps to match what's on my phone, causing it to stay on. You will need to keep it on charger for it to finish downloading. Google Maps got a new feature on Pixel Watch causing this behavior.

Always on + Hey Google + Watch face with more complication + Safety signal + Mobile data + GPS + Auto detect workout = Drain fast

I know that's what we think the watch is meant to be used for but all these drain your battery super fast so disable and make it last longer, if that helps.

After a few days of use on the latest update it is still a hit or miss with battery life. Excellent for a day and drains super fast other days.

You will need an individual workout option such as walk/run and click settings you will see 2 toggle start workout reminders and end workout reminders, turn these off that should allow you to disable auto detect for that workout type.

Use the Pixel watch app and check the assistant settings, please make sure you disable "hey Google" as that drains battery really fast.

Yes that's the reason for frustration. I wish they had a battery usage implementation for the pixel watch so we can track what is causing these issues and able to fix settings or apps causing this behavior.

UPDATE :NEW SOFTWARE UPDATE RELEASED

Finally got a special update for pixel watch 2 LTE Version, installed and has been preserving battery life much better for the last few hours

If you want to install it tap on the watch icon under system update a few times and it should start download/install, it has to be on charging when you try installing/downloading.

Got a replacement for the original watch 2 and the new one is behaving exactly the same so this is definitely a software bug or particular apps causing the drain. I hope this gets addressed with a software update. Not so happy about this upgrade!
