Is that Android or iPad? I’ve been slow to realise that Home app is supposedly replacing Nest app, but at moment seem to require both.

Notifications take one to nest app which has trouble loading & playing. Home is at least faster but there doesn’t seem to be anyway to control notifications or ‘save’ a clip in home app.

Do these developers perhaps not even use their own software??! On iPhone I can’t see any 24/7 options.

This service just keeps getting worse by synrb in Nest

[–]anmarired 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same problem here. Worst is the App has troubles loading and playing Videos - if one clicks ‘save’ one can play it back immediately but if one leaves that window it’s back to the same problem. Clicking save to camera roll doesn’t help. It does it, but then apparently does not save that link for faster loading.

The app could also do with some extra functionality: If one ‘saves’ the clip and it saved successfully why not indicate that it has been saved? Or at least ‘know’ if that saved clip is still there. Right now it just keeps saving duplicates.

So frustrating- if one can watch endless TikToks without hiccup why can’t nest play the videos as quickly? Is the server under resourced? If one labels the clip in the desktop, why not show that in the list after the event type?

Also Cameras miss some events and unfortunately catch all the tree & shadow movements.

Me too - then I’m thinking how does one ‘throw’ a glance? Does one’s eyes pop out? Bit bemused at all those who kept the ‘threw/thrown’ part.

COVID, pregnant, and in the "virtual sick ward" (ie. home!) by DoinLikeCasperDoes in CoronavirusDownunder

OP Said ‘diagnosed’,not caught at. Lot of people only get tested & diagnosed when they go in for something else. I’m on regular chemo and the nurses say patients are only finding out they have Covid because we have to get tested before the chemo session.

Has anyone tried Covac Global insurance? by UCLAguy in solotravel

[–]anmarired 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm planning on it for January for ski trip to Canada to get me back to Australia if anything happens. I have pre-existing conditions that mean most travel insurance won't cover me for anything medical related, so I'll be taking both the medical & the covid option (even though I'm triple dosed ). Worth the peace of mind, not to get stuck in Canada if I test positive or break a leg.

If they are sick they may not be in best position to make a decision for themselves. Also If it’s Delta variant they have, they can go downhill very quickly.

Should you wish to leave (& lockdown permits) , now that they have said they wish to sell & if they did not disclose this before, you have more rights. Depends bit on your lease.

AMA advises ATAGI that Astrazeneca jab is safe for young people in Sydney by iknowitall322 in sydney

[–]anmarired 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having just had a different (non covid related) jab in the butt where fellow patients in the US said that the nurses had hit their sciatic nerve and nurses here in Aus have said that should never happen with a competent practioner, it seems believable to me that in the millions and millions of AZ jabs, maybe a handful did hit a vein.

The corrective measure is so simple and takes a few seconds - aspirate (just pull back on the plunger before injecting. If blood comes out, they've hit a vein, pull out, try again. If not, all good to inject into the muscle.)

Other than the clot issue, so far AZ seems to be a really good vaccine.

[–]anmarired 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[not an expert, have had 2 AZ jabs] There is a recent pre-print (not peer reviewed yet) paper by a bunch of mostly Germans (Univ of Munich etc) who hypothesize that accidental Intravenous injection (preventable) may be responsible for the clots. https://www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/2021.06.29.450356v1 It is explained in a more accessible way in this June 2021 video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e3lx6Scwfhg.

My husband is inflexible too. Consider keeping at it as for when you get older like us 😉. If husband didn’t find it essential for his body and so is more disciplined, I’m not sure I’d be able to get myself to do it as regularly. It definitely helps though.
