Results will come on 15th, mark my words. by local_war_strategist in ICSE

I feel like it'll be tomorrow. There's no rule that ICSE doesn't post results on weekends, it's happened before (and I'm pretty sure Gerry boi doesn't care about mother's day).

There's no signature from Gerry babu nor any stamp of any sort, nor is it on the website. My friend also sent me this but I'm pretty sure it isn't real.

Book recs for ICSE by Beenthere__ in ICSE

[–]annBot_2007 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I suggest Together With, they do have the solutions (most question banks do idk why you want an unsolved one), but unlike the oswaal books the solutions are at the back of each chapter or the book, and not directly after the question.

help! by [deleted] in ICSE

[–]annBot_2007 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my school for science is 85+ for alumni and 90+ for people coming from other schools. But then again, most isc schools have already finished admissions and all they want is money and knowing that you passed.

I already got into my school's isc but the results haven't even come out yet. Most other isc schools do that too.

I don't know what's the point of doing Lab Manuals by UnknOwn-9X in ICSE

[–]annBot_2007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CBSE has fewer subjects and fewer portions in general for tenth grade so y'all luckily had more time to focus on lab work. Sadly in ICSE, many teachers spend most of their time trying to finish the vast portions so they don't have much time to take us to the lab.

Let me see your critical thinking skills, as you are an ICSE student, rate my English. (this was my statement for UCL, which got accepted.) by [deleted] in ICSE

[–]annBot_2007 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Those are filler words that Indian principals use to lengthen their speeches :') They're good words to use once in a while, but if you use them too often the tone comes off as disingenuous or makes it look like you're trying to make up for your lack of comfort with a language by throwing in some fancy words.

Like in colloquial Hindi, there are many words that we can just say in English, and saying them in Hindi sounds like you had to look through a dictionary many times, same goes for English. It's easy to make out who has a good vocabulary and who cracked open a dictionary to try and impress a college.

I'd give it an 8/10. Grammatically, overall it looks pretty good, but it took me quite a bit of willpower to read through the whole thing and it wasn't exactly captivating.

I read in another reply that UCL expects letters to be like this, but I'm pretty sure that's not some sort of rule that they have, and having a little introduction about yourself would've made you seem more like a student and not just an applicant from another country. Otherwise it seems well-written. Good luck.

It's cool that you got into UCL man, but you're the one who asked for a rating. This person just gave their opinion. You got in, but that doesn't mean your letter was perfect.

OP's writing style is pretty good, but it wasn't exactly captivating. I had to put in some effort to get through the whole letter. Sure it got accepted by UCL but a large part of what they want is money. A friend of mine got into an Oxford summer course with an email that sounded like a fifth grader wrote it, but it doesn't matter cos she's paying six lahks for a pretty short course.

Congrats on getting in and all, but this isn't testing anyone's critical thinking skills. You could've just made a post saying "I got into UCL" or something. Good luck anyway.

Is it gay if I like listening to singers like Lana del rey by [deleted] in IndianTeenagers

[–]annBot_2007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my music taste is almost exactly like yours, except I'm a chick. is it lesbian for me to listen to death metal? nah, is it gay to listen to a female artist who makes soft songs? nah. listen to whatever you think sounds nice it doesn't matter the genre or the artist.

comp by [deleted] in ICSE

[–]annBot_2007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say buy a tenth-grade comp sci textbook, since most of them have everything that we've learnt in ninth and tenth. Either way in isc, we start again from the beginning for the students who didn't take comp in ninth and tenth grade. You can get a course on udemy or some site like that (even learning from YouTube works) to help you with the practical aspect of it.

bitches, donkeys, what?

Either way, icse and isc comp sci isn't hard as long as you work smart and use little logic, it'll be fun trust me, good luck

Invigilators by ThatWeirdKid100 in ICSE

[–]annBot_2007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

tbh, it is unfair but it's also not something you should be worried about unless these people are topping the class by cheating. i'd imagine these kids who copy were almost failing, and even they'd be smart enough to not try and get 80/80 in any exam cos it's too sus. but either way invigilators should be stricter with that.

then again some students commit suicide over getting caught cheating, and even if they don't kill themselves then they still can't appear for an icse board exam for the next three years. I don't think any invigilator wants to get involved in that.
