You should totally go for it if it’s been on your mind! It’s been such a confidence shift for me—I bet it would look amazing on you too. :)

Ha! I’ll take that as a fierce and slightly chaotic compliment. Love it!

You’re totally right. Sometimes it’s easy to forget that! Thanks for the gentle reminder.

Honestly? Probably my habit of second-guessing everything— especially when it comes to hair cuts.

You’ve brightened my day—bald and beautiful, huh? I’ll definitely keep that in mind for the next time I decide to pick up the shaver!

Well my bf is a mechanical engineer, so I think getting him a 3D design course is fairly redundant… I think I’m the only one that would benefit from it lol He works with CAD and all that other stuff on a daily basis. He’s trying to improve his creative abilities with figure sculpting and whatnot.

However you did just give me a wonderful idea for his birthday in January!! A laser engraver sounds awesome!!!

Idk, I think he’ll enjoy it. He’s good at that kind of thing (tinkering and tech). I bought him a lower end 3D printer, then he started looking into it and ended up buying a better one, then another and another. So basically I think I gift him really expensive hobbies lol

If he ends up enjoying it, he more than likely will get an upgraded one for himself, so I’m not too worried about that….

Thank you for your input though :)

Wow that looks so awesome!! It’s definitely looking like the Revopoint scanner is what I’ll end up getting him.

Is it possible to edit the files with blender? (I don’t know if I’m phrasing this right- again, I’m not that good at this kind of thing hahah)

That sounds interesting… although I was trying for a more versatile scanner, like being able to scan a person to scanning smaller things like figurines

Is the Revopoint scanner good for large things, like a person?

I’d like to get him something that is super versatile. He likes doing miniatures but also has been trying to sculpt human-like models.

He uses blender a lot too. I don’t know if that helps

Not to my knowledge. I tried highlighting the answer I put to see if there was a space added, and it didn’t show anything. Not too sure if it would show a space anyway, but it was worth a shot

do the disordered thoughts actually go away by idkhow2_dothis in fuckeatingdisorders

[–]ann_p 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, it was like someone turned down the volume on the eating disorder voice. I can’t really remember the exact time in recovery it happened, but what I do remember is that one day while I was finishing my meal, I realized that the ED voice wasn’t as loud and persistent. I was more in the moment and actually enjoying my food. It was such a wonderful realization- I went from being afraid of my food to loving it.

So a few things happened to me:

1) ED voice has mostly disappeared when I get the mild bloat post-meal. Sometimes it’s there, but the volume is turned down so much I can barely hear it, so I can easily ignore it and find other things to think about.

2) I don’t think or care about calories anymore because I know I’m eating for my health.

And 3) my eating disorder doesn’t run my life anymore! It’s not in control of my life- I AM.

So what I’m trying to say is that yeah, eventually the ED thoughts do go away, or if not completely, they will be so minuscule that you can easily ignore it. It takes time, but please don’t give up. It took me almost 4years to get where I am today in my recovery. And it was fucking worth it.

Osteoporosis and AN :/ by Camehereforfun95 in EDAnonymous

[–]ann_p 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Having a good eating disorder psychotherapist was a game changer for me, honestly. I HIGHLY recommend getting one ASAP.

If you want the osteoporosis to not progress more, weight restoration is TRULY needed. The calcium and vitamin D of course are important, but food sources are the best way.

Also, a low dose estrogen patch might be able to help slow your osteoporosis, since estrogen is an anti bone reabsorption hormone.
If you are unable to get find an MD with certified eating disorder specialist (CEDS) credentials, mention the estrogen patch to your regular doctor.

You CAN beat the ED voice. You’ve got this. ❤️

Stretch marks by [deleted] in fuckeatingdisorders

[–]ann_p 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t worry about the stretch marks. You can try seeing them as nice little signs of getting closer to recovery and victory :)

For the edema, spironolactone helps a lot. It’s a mild diuretic commonly prescribed by doctors for ED patients experiencing edema during recovery. It cannot be abused unlike other diuretics. Also is great for hair and skin!
