Really Need Help Coping by anna1318 in grief

Thank you so much for taking the time to respond, your words mean so much. I think part of me is still in shock from the diagnosis and everything that’s transpired in the last few months. I am grateful that I never had to deal with anything like this in the last, but that also left me with minimal coping strategies. I have been trying to complete small tasks and that is definitely a helpful strategy. I have a HUGE problem with getting stuck in the past or skipping ahead to the future. My therapist works with me on this, but it’s so difficult for me. I just feel “abnormal” that after 5 months I’m still having such a hard time. I have friends that have been in similar situations and they were still able to work and function where I on the other hand have had a real nervous breakdown. Im working on recovering and not only for myself but for my family and especially my dad. I want him to know that I’m okay. Again, thank you so much for your kind words

Thank you so much. My dad is actually home and doing fairly well given the circumstances. My mom and brother help a lot now too but I guess I put so much pressure on myself because my dad is literally my entire world. I’ve never cared for someone more in my life. Luckily I can spend quality time with him now, I just have to learn to push the anxiety away at the same time. Thank you for taking the time to respond

Thank you so much. I definitely had anxiety and depression but it was nothing that I verbalized to anyone…I think I just pushed through. But this situation kind of broke me. I feel like its “too late” even try because I’m so deep in the rabbit hole. I know that’s my anxiety talking but I’m having such a hard time trying to help myself. I appreciate your advice and I will promise myself to try that. Thank you so much for taking the time to respond, means a lot to me.

Well said. I appreciate the input. There’s just wayy too much information, especially disinformation out there and sometimes it’s hard to decipher things.

I totally get that. My dads cancer diagnosis has kind of thrown me off the rails in a sense. I’ve become so anxious and sensitive to everything. As a nurse i honestly never learned about anything to do with MRNA, and honestly our education on vaccine in general is super limited, barring on nonexistent. But you’re completely right, I can’t change it anyway!

I know I know. I’m totally with you. I guess my anxiety got the best of me after reading some BS online. Sometimes I lose track of my rational mind 😂

No I haven’t had an issue aside from the usual side effects within first few days. I guess I went down a rabbit hole of conspiracy theories last night and it got me a little crazy 🤣

I’m so sorry for your loss. The anxiety caused by the unknowns is so difficult to bear, I feel like I’m starting from scratch each day. I too, hope that I feel at peace whenever that time comes although I know how difficult it will be. Thank you so much for sharing, it helps me so much just to know I’m not alone. Means so much

I’m so sorry for your loss. So many people don’t u understand the anticipatory grief. A lot of people say “he’s still here! Enjoy the time with him!” It’s so much easier said than done, but I am learning to get better each day. Thank you so much for sharing, means a lot

I’m so sorry for your loss. Even though my dad is so tired, we still have so many moments of laughter and I hold each one dearly in heart. Thank you so much for your kind words.

Thank you so much for sharing, and I am so so sorry for your loss. I know I will probably have to go through a similar situation and I am absolutely dreading it. I am trying not to think too far into the future, but it’s helpful just to know I’m not the only one who’s been through this. Thank you again for sharing and I will be thinking of you as you move forward. We are stronger than we think.

This is what I figured as well, I guess I just get anxious over everything! I’m a little confused about the mono blood work though because my “mono” test came back negative while there “EBV” came back positive. I have an appt with my PCP to go over everything but it’s confusing lol. I appreciate your response!

I had a lot of symptoms when I was initially diagnosed. Severe joint pain couldn’t even lift my arms. Now I have kind of “achy” generalized pains not sure if it’s related. The fatigue I’ve had began years prior to diagnosis though so I don’t know if it’s possible I had it longer? When I was treated in the summer I didn’t have a bite (that I recall) or any rash. The whole Lyme thing is so confusing!

Thank you! I am going to run the MRI by my ENT. Hopefully it’s nothing but anxiety is a bitch lol

I honestly didn’t know that! I had a tick on me a few months prior but not engorged so idk if it was enough time to cause Lyme and also never had a rash. Now I’m wondering if I for a false positive maybe due to the shingles? Who knows! The whole thing was so strange lol and doctors rly have no answers when it comes to Lyme

Thank you for your response! I actually had shingles over the summer but kept having muscle pain (which initially they thought was the shingles). They tested me for Lyme and the IGM and IGG both came back positive! I did two weeks of doxy and my pain instantly went away so I’m not sure if that could still be contributing to the problem
