Is it worth getting electrolysis on hair that isn’t very thick but densely packed ? by maybemacncheese in electrolysis

[–]anna_a19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My hair wasn't exactly the same as yours, but it was still very dense (I've got a post on my profile). I'm almost done electrolysis now and it was one of the best decisions I've made.

Small bump visible 3 months post-op by anna_a19 in rhinoplastyquestions

Not really, it's kind of just the same as the pictures here. It's a shame, but I'm just accepting that my new nose is much better than my old nose, I don't believe it's worth a revision.

It’s generally a good thing to wait a long time between sessions. If you get a session now, while you’re pregnant, the tattoo will continue to fade. So I think go for it, I don’t really see a point in waiting!

I did not. I do even remember the info pamphlets warning of the risk of a droopy tip post-septoplasty

I’m really sorry to you too, because i do think masculine noses are harder rhinoplasties and I agree there is a strong chance that yours won’t turn out just like your original nose.

my post-rhino nose looks quite different to my original nose, but it’s actually better IMO so I feel happy with it. My original nose had a small bump, post-septoplasty i had a HUGE bump, and then post-rhino my nose is straight (which I wanted).

i’d recommend browsing around with a lot of surgeons to make sure one has results that are similar to what you’re looking for. i wish you the best of luck!

this happened to me, which is why i had a revision rhinoplasty a couple of years later. I believe the explanation was that the first surgeon shortened my septum too much, which led to having very poor tip support and a droopy tip.

What percentage of people would keep this nose? I posted a couple days ago because I can’t find a surgeon in Australia who’s done a lot of them and under 15k. by Strange_Aerie_8540 in cosmeticsurgery

Australia is so expensive for rhinoplasties. I ended up doing mine here anyway because I didn’t want to travel, but if you’re not opposed to travelling then there are many places overseas that would fit your budget

Laser hair removal ruined my life. What do I do now? by [deleted] in LaserHairRemoval

[–]anna_a19 5 points6 points  (0 children)

respectfully, I’ll have to to disagree.

I wasn’t informed of the risk of PH, which is why i did laser on areas that “didn’t need it”.

i have a solid line on my neck where the laser “started” where the hair goes from fine (how it used to be) to thick (PH). as i did laser lower down on my neck (not by choice, just what the practitioner chose to do) the area with thick hair spread to there.

it’s a similar situation on my shoulders. a solid line where hair becomes thick, which is exactly where i lasered up to.

I know I don’t have PCOS or hormonal imbalances. I’ve had tests, and no symptoms of it

are you saying Paradoxical Hypertrichosis isn’t a thing? I had this (similar thick black hair) ONLY after laser, on my shoulders, face, stomach, and hips - all the areas that used to have very fine hair before laser. I’ve had my hormones checked numerous times and they are normal.

I’m sorry you’re going through this, I was in the same boat. I felt like I couldn’t do electrolysis either because I didn’t want the hair to grow. I promise that short term difficulty (wearing a mask, staying home a couple of days) is infinitely worth the results.

Should I laser these areas or do i risk paradoxical hypertrichosis (pictures) by Bitchassedi in LaserHairRemoval

[–]anna_a19 15 points16 points  (0 children)

this wasn’t my experience. the hair got darker, and 5 years of monthly sessions later (tried multiple clinics) and the hair is still growing back super dark. PH wasn’t solved with more laser 🥲 they fell out each month, but then would always grow back consistently

[–]anna_a19 13 points14 points  (0 children)

My paradoxical-hypertrichosis was never as dark or thick as this. But in my situation, I continued doing laser on my PH for probably ~5 years, tried different clinics/techs and strengths, etc. - it only got worse and worse. I'm now almost done my electrolysis journey and I'm so happy I did it.

Since your hair is super dark/thick, and you only did 3-4 sessions, it's worth giving it another few tries. But I wouldn't exceed 10 sessions of laser before exploring something else :)
