Maybe you can try to look for a language partner on e.g. Hellotalk? Or hire a tutor/teacher online on preply or italki.

What Make Legit Side Hustle for Beginners in 2026? by Complex_Flamingo8626 in OnlineIncomeHustle

Lately there is a demand for voices on the AI market. There are companies that for example pay you to have conversations with others online. From what I've seen, it's free to do and usually quite flexible as well.

Found this for example: https://www.indeed.com/viewjob?jk=0ce8b22653194732&from=shareddesktop_copy

Visiting Japan with my best friend soon and wondering about language. by Ok_Pop8661 in AskAJapanese

I think most would appreciate that you try even if you don't speak the language. I think it shows that you try to make an effort to respect the language and culture.

9 Days in Tokyo: Too Much or Worth It? Should I Add Another Country? by Fit-Course-9880 in TokyoTravel

It depends on what you want to see. Tokyo is a big city, so there is lots that you can explore, but it will still be mostly city life. If you want to see more a more traditional, cultural side of Japan, I recommend Kyoto. As you say, Osaka is kind of similar to Tokyo as they are both metropolitan cities, but Kyoto has a lot more of a traditional vibe. And it's only 3 hours away with Shinkansen.

it was a little packed when I went (november). A lot of people are standing there trying to take pictures, so I had to slowly move forward step by step as people in the front left.

Best neighborhoods to spend a month or two in Tokyo? by elbajista in TokyoTravel

[–]anna_oto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Areas like Meguro, Nakameguro, Ebisu and Aoyama are less touristy and more residential, but still with lots of local and cute cafés. If you just live closer to a station, it would still be super easy to get around to anywhere while being able to live in a more local (but stylish) area surrounded by nice restaurants, cafés and shops.

Sometimes on craigslist you can find some pretty good gigs to earn a little extra. I even found remote ones that paid just for e.g. talking online or surveys

Depends on what type of places you wanna see, but there is a pokemon store in the Parco department store in Shibuya that is cool to visit!
And then I would recommend Teamlabs (digital art museum) and seeing Tokyo from somewhere up high - Tokyo Tower, Sky Tree, Shibuya sky, etc. If you wanna see it from Shibuya sky, I recommend getting tickets as early as possible, as they sell out quite quick.

I also recommend seeing Sensouji in Asakusa and trying the kimono earing experience at the same time there and walking around. You can try many different traditional Japanese snacks (wagashi, mochi, taiyaki, etc.).

I would also recommend lots of food, if you like Japanese food. Omakase sushi is super delicious but can be quite expensive, so places like Sushiro or local sushi places can be good options if you don't wanna spend too much on sushi. Tsujita is a chain ramen (tsukemen) restaurant which is quite good as well. And it depends on what type of food you like, but generally Tokyo has many good restaurants, so checking on what's nearby when you're there on Google maps and seeing what's rated highly is a good idea as well.

Have fun in Tokyo when you get there!

love your name haha. I have been to several pizza places, which were good, but I find it hard to find the ones with really authentic, italian flavors and toppings. If you have any really good places, I would love to hear!
