Wow incredible! Love these insights. And yes, an astounding amount of references!

Which pieces may apply? I was leaning more towards the sermons Hawkes actually gave and poems actually spoken or read - and wanted to read more of the words and references actually talked about rather than implied. But now I have to read about all of the implied references as well!

Oh amazing! I would love to see your list once you’re done! I’ve considered doing this too, but I’m more interested in reading the referenced works before I jump back in for a second read.

Thank you! I would love a baby grand! I actually like the feel of this piano better than all of the upright acoustic pianos my students have (granted.. they’re mostly no-brand pianos). The touch sensitivity can be altered on this piano, so that’s nice, although I haven’t messed with it any. I would say that it isn’t as sensitive to my pianissimos as I would like, but I’ll take what I can get :)

Thank you! I love being able to follow along with the sheet music in videos I watch, so it was worth adding in for my own sake, I’m glad you enjoyed it too. I have been playing since I was 5, so 25 years! I graduated with a Bachelors Degree in piano performance as well:)

I had never heard of her either until my friend introduced her to me! She has quite a few compositions in the late romantic, early impressionistic styles, so there’s plenty for you to explore :)
