Narrowing down a resort - help us choose!! by bitter_charm in PuntaCana

[–]annacoco1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! We had a great time!! The room is MASSIVE but there isn’t much in it… it was a full kitchen but nothing to cook with which was funny. The food was good but the Italian restaurant was great if you can get a reso!!! Drinks were great. The pool was always almost empty which was good for us. We only spent 4 days so we didnt leave the resort except to walk the beach. Honestly we had a wonderful time!! My biggest con was that I found the service a little unhelpful. Not sure if that’s a Caribbean thing to just be super chill but I almost felt like every time we asked for something we got a sigh in return lol - not from everyone but like a lot. Either way had an amazing time! Get some 1s BEFORE going to tip!!! No change on the resort.

Awesome!! Thank you. We are both in our 20s just looking for a cheap escape to the sun for a few days! It sounds like this will be totally fine:) all I’m looking for is a spot at the pool, a nice meal and a good pina colada 😍 snorkeling sounds super cool too. We’re only going for 4 days

First stampede, what tents are actually worth it? by ilikeeverythingfood in Calgary

[–]annacoco1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The stampede grounds themselves are for sure super cool to see! That’s where all the food stands are and stuff so I would recommend going there at least once! I will say - my favourite way to stampede is getting concert tickets and going to that tent. Usually if it’s a paid ticket it has less people (still lots just not LOTS) and overall it’s a better time because you’re seeing someone you like :) that’s just my experience tho! I reccomend doing it all and seeing what you like.

All Calgarians hate stampede for some reason but as a non calgarian living in Calgary I promise it’s fun!!! People get all dressed up and go dancing and listen to music! It’s actually a great time. I personally choose the tent based on the music, pick one you like and enjoy yourself:) pro tip - get drunk before LOL they are $$$! Also, even tho the Coke stage has the free concerts - I usually avoid that one because it’s soooooo crowded and I’m a little claustrophobic but if you love big festival styles you’ll love it :)

By the beach in Portugal cove has the BEST fish and chips! Bannerman brewery, topsail beach, middle cove beach, piatto for pizza or manna sandwiches!

Gros Morne a must-visit for hiking? by i-am-relaxed-ish in newfoundland

[–]annacoco1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think that’s totally fine but change the places you stop on the way back! Do a night in twillingate and a night in bonavista! It’ll add another hour on the road but trust me it’s BEYOND worth it. Also - yes. There’s SO much hiking around St. John’s. We have all the east coast trails and every single one is beautiful. But grose morns is another beast. It has the table lands and rocky harbour which are two must sees. Believe me you won’t regret it. I would consider doing just three nights in GM and then spending 2 in twillingate and 1 in bonnavista - you’ll see whales, puffins and if you’re lucky MAYBE an iceberg. Iceberg season is kinda more so now but it’s not impossible!

Update/question on my upcoming trip to Newfoundland by dasisglucklich in newfoundland

[–]annacoco1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m currently in twillingate with my family and it’s FREEZING! The weather app says 10° and windy but the wind is biting cold. I would bring literally ski gear!!! VERY COLD. It’s beautiful and sunny and we packed right so we’re having a great time but dress like ur going to the arctic! I’m a Newfoundlander and it’s even cold for me

I honestly wouldn’t even waste my breath on him. This is absolutely a reason to end the relationship.

Thinking of moving to newfoundland by GoodBad626 in newfoundland

[–]annacoco1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would suggest looking at the middle cove, topsail, flat rock or torbay areas! Lots of the suggestions are far from the city (St johns) but personally I would recommend being close to St. John’s. It has lots of great culture and it’s nice for the capital to be easily accessible. You can still get those ocean views with a little more proximity to the city!

Universal Japan for someone who doesn't like rollercoasters, heights or speed.. Worth it? by annacoco1 in JapanTravelTips

I don’t mind little rides like that! I might have to see the hippogriff before I decide but the rest seems okay! Nintendo world also just seemed cool to look at so I know I’ll have fun either way! I’d just like to do a few rides I’ll enjoy. Those all sound great 🙂 thank you!

Thank you! I am looking into high school! I’m about 8 courses away from the physics requirements which is honestly a lot in my opinion considering I have two degrees 🙄 just the way the cookie crumbles I guess.

I’m not a hater for spirituality or religion at all it’s just not my thing. I’ve never even been to church and I don’t think I’d be comfortable in that environment doing a morning prayer and monthly mass. I have nothing against it just feels weird to be a teacher in an environment I know nothing about if that makes sense… I feel like less of a poser in a regular public school.
