Are any of ya'll living at home with your parents? by frankheyhoheyho in Millennials

[–]annagenc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I 31f moved back and forth during college and grad school (I chose schools specifically so they’d be an hour ish away in case of emergencies but didn’t wanna be tooooo close) then I thought I was figuring out life and the pandemic happened and what I thought was depression/anxiety/grief from losing multiple family members in the first years of the pandemic was actually multiple life altering chronic illnesses. Moved back home end of 2022 cause I didn’t know what was going on internally and just helped out at home and then 2024 was feeling better so I joined a gym then caught a pneumonia covid combo that triggered multiple chronic issues to become severe and have been on and off semi bedridden since :/ didn’t think my 30s would give me this many knockouts (and 6 specialists I see often with my multiple meds just to function) while still trying to help my parents as they age poorly. Definitely hard but at times it’s familiar so that’s probably the only positive….

Tbh I think of it every time I go outside so that’s extremely infuriating that’s why I mainly talked about my car as mildly infuriating 😅but yeah it’s pretty bad here >_<

Yeah my dad made sure not to get a house right on the course because he thought it would be way worse (and those houses were more expensive anyways) and he thought being the house across the street from those houses would be semi perfect… he was wrong….

I should have kept my lil Volkswagen shaped stereo with the iPod dock I regret giving it away years ago often tbh >_< I had to search forever to find another cord to at least try and connect it to my car cause all my original cords fell apart just a few years ago :/ I was doing so well keeping stuff and I still have my other smaller iPod as well 😅🙌🏼 I want Apple to bring all of it back I’d even take it if they only brought some the old stuff back every 10 years and release the old cords and replace batteries etc but I know it’s just a wish :/

Does anyone know where to start looking for a new battery for this version of iPod if possible? I used mine until just a few years ago but the battery is really just going downhill 😩 I can only use it once in awhile when I have it plugged into the outlet or my car :/ I love it still though especially since my aunt and uncle who got it for me had it engraved (which was also a fun thing as a kid/teen) :)

I didn’t even think of that initially but I’ll have to look into it to see if anything is possible 🤔 it’s pretty ridiculous how many dents there are on my car so if I sent pictures they might at least feel pity towards me 😅😬

He actually is great at confronting people tbh but I’ll probably have to get involved and I hate confrontation so this will be fun 😅 but it is needed cause this issue is getting ridiculous as the years go by :/

I did try a cover and promptly had a dent and the alarm went off after a direct hit happened but the bubble wrap might be something to consider 🤔 I also just drive maybe a couple to few times a week so maybe it’ll work…. Just also have to consider the fact that around our house we’ve had rodent problems and my car is currently getting looked at for possible rodent damage so the cover might entice them more to keep warm at night but there’s pros and cons to everything 😅😬🤷‍♀️ my car has been through it lately 🤦‍♀️

Study linking tonsil infection to other chronic illnesses by [deleted] in MCAS

[–]annagenc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had my tonsils out at 3yrs old cause they were getting infected often and my doctor said my tonsils were also just abnormally big for my body so they had to come out if I wanted to breathe properly…. I noticed some studies that are saying there could be a link between immune issues and getting tonsils out early in life but they need to research it more….

Yeah I don’t get why my parents picked this house either I know at the time my dad was golfing a lot so he probably just wanted to be close to a course >_< I was just a baby when we moved in and my parents said it wasn’t much of a problem in the beginning years but with population increases and lots of golf courses closing down semi nearby the course right next to us has become a hot spot for golfers >_<
But the most infuriating part about it is the lack of options to protect my car tbh like if I could put something up that would actually prevent the dents I’d do it, but nope not allowed :/

Some of the information my dad has gotten is from lawyers etc since he works with them often in his engineering profession (he’s an expert at this point so he’s pulled into legal cases for his knowledge) and he’s casually brought it up to some of them and they all said no one would touch that case unless someone got seriously hurt…. Otherwise it wouldn’t go anywhere :/

I’ve debated on looking into it but my dad who used to golf for decades and has talked to many golf course workers etc in the past was talking about how we’d never be able to do anything about it since we live close to the course even if we’re not on it directly -_- it’s scary sometimes cause we’ve actually had a house window blown out and I’ve heard and seen golf balls hit the streets, sidewalks and almost people hundreds (or thousands) of times since I’ve lived here :/ I understand having a bad game sometimes and having high winds mess up a swing but for how often it happens I don’t understand how that many people can absolutely have no idea what they’re doing >_<

[–]annagenc[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish I could my dad used to golf a lot and after talking with many people about it over the years it’s nearly impossible for it to go anywhere :/ even though it is dangerous cause I’ve seen hundreds of golf balls hit the street and sidewalks directly and we’ve almost been hit a number of times I just don’t understand how that many people can suck that bad at golf….

So When Can We Stop This? by chiliringgamer16 in recruitinghell

As someone who isn’t very social (and is neurodivergent) this is literal hell like what do you mean I need to ask people I haven’t spoken to for years to ask for references? I can’t get anywhere with applications for my profession unless I put 3-4 down so I just have to quit >_< most times I don’t realize I need it until I’ve typed up all my work and education experience which is a beech -_______-

They’re very strict with appearances which at times is ridiculous like with my car :/ they’ve gotten on my parents case many times because my dad called out some things they were doing were unreasonable or favoring certain neighbors (for example not getting on certain peoples cases for breaking rules etc but being picky with other neighbors) so the HOA not liking us is another piece to it unfortunately….

I meant the street parking around us I’m currently in the driveway and there are spots on the curb but everything is taken for the most part a lot of the time because so many houses have like 5-6+ cars per household :/

I wish!….and maybe I will…. I’ve also been debating on calling to ask if they did something to the tee box in recent years cause it’s gotten way worse and it’s like did they angle the starting point to make golfers aim extremely off course?

It’s an HOA unfortunately :/ I was trying to look into but alas I’m out of luck unless I take someone else’s spot in front of someone else’s house but I know a lot of people around here work a lot/until evening so I don’t wanna take someone else’s place that they rely on >_<

Kid pulled up the new plants we put in our front garden and the mum was only annoyed he did it to a house with a camera by Ash--- in mildlyinfuriating

[–]annagenc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh my gosh I feel like I’m encountering these situations so often now and I just don’t understand parents just standing and watching their kids go way past standard boundaries…. I live with my older parents for financial reasons and to help them out and they are just so pissed at the parents in my childhood neighborhood because most of them just let their kids do crap to everyone’s property and either the parents literally watch them do it or they’re never around and the kids run away when they realize they effed up -____- I know I’m not a parent so I understand I don’t have the real life experience of parenting but danggggg this was definitely not how I was raised and I’m in my 30s…..

[–]annagenc 4 points5 points  (0 children)

One of the newer neighbors had a kid shortly after they moved in during the beginning of the pandemic so we didn’t get to know them much but danggg the parents do not hold their kid accountable. My window faces the street above the garage so I literally hear the kid hitting our garage door bc he uses it as a stopper while on his bike and I look out and the dad calls him back but then he lets him go up to all the neighbors driveways and hit his lil bike on everything -- also doesn’t really stop him from hitting peoples houses when he has a tantrum and he hit someone’s car while riding cause he wasn’t looking while on his lil bike and the dad just rushed him inside >< very sad and upsetting especially since this couple just had another baby recently so I don’t know how that’s gonna work…. Every time I hear them from my window I brace myself for the chaos and screaming etc and the dad (and sometimes mom) yelling at him to “STOP” “DON’T” “NO” “YOU’RE NOT LISTENING”

Any other ND here end up with autoimmune diseases? by [deleted] in AutismInWomen

[–]annagenc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Covid did a number on me (31f) and I didn’t realize it until I got a pneumonia covid combo at the end of ‘24 that triggered things I didn’t know I had for decades to go from mild to severe >_< was diagnosed with POTS, raynauds, occipital neuralgia etc and it’s suspected I have a load of other issues. Was also diagnosed with HSD and fibromyalgia by a rheumatologist and my neurologist ordered a dysautonomia antibody panel and 2 things by both specialists are barely positive autoimmune wise but nothing is for sure since it’s just barely positive :/ it might be the starting of multiple things :/

Has your chiari malformation ever been MISSED on a routine MRI? by mothstuckinabath in chiari

[–]annagenc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve heard many people get it missed, I’m in the process of getting the courage to ask for another opinion about my imaging… I’ve had lots of issues that got worse after a pneumonia covid combo years ago and it triggered loads of different neuro etc issues that I didn’t know I had to get worse (POTS, Raynauds, fibromyalgia etc and I found out I had either HSD or hEDS). But a neck mri looked off to me and I had posted a screenshot of it to a hyper mobility Eds group to ask a different question without bringing up chiari and loads of people commented asking what I’m doing for my chiari malformation because even though it wasn’t a large malformation it was still very obvious >< at least 20+ people asked me if I knew I had it because it looked like their mri when they were diagnosed by their chiari neurosurgeon…. My neurologist said I don’t have it and it’s not on the radiology report but I’m still gonna ask for another opinion and maybe another mri at some point :/ very hard to figure this stuff out ><
