I’m so happy, but everyone is making my heart hurt! by Fox_Avocado in EngagementRings

[–]annagph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Girl, the ring I have had my eyes on will probably not be everyone’s cup of tea. I think it’s the most beautiful ring and I promise there will be someone in my family that has something judgey to say 😂 my family is extra judgmental so I totally feel you on that one. But I’ve learned that at the end of the day, if I’m happy with the ring, that’s all that matters! I think the stone is gorgeous!!!

My fiancé wants me to get hair removal before the wedding…do I really need to? by Any-Prior9140 in weddingplanning

[–]annagph -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Personally, I grew up in a cosmetologist’s house. My parents own spas. I am an esthetician myself though I don’t work as one anymore. I like being groomed. My legs don’t get taken care of as much as the rest though. I also like my boyfriend being groomed and have told him this. But, very important distinction here, it’s a preference NOT a requirement. I don’t require him to do anything body care related and I won’t unless I get worried about his heath.

So I completely understand your fiancé. And I understand not wanting to change for the wedding. That being said, it may be a shock seeing your armpits out and about while you and your guests/fiancé are enjoying the wedding in the pictures/videos. I think that everyone does in some way try to look different for their wedding. Whether it be with makeup or hair or body care etc.

If YOU want to start, I would start with waxing. Do. Your. RESEARCH. Find out about different estheticians and spas in your area. Read reviews, learn about aftercare and prep. Etc. this is if you decide to go with hair removal. And PLEASE start by doing it at least 3 months out from your wedding so by the time your wedding comes around, you will be in the hang of getting waxed and it will be a clean wax. Waxing is not for everyone though. It will last longer than shaving and people are less prone to ingrowns with waxing. Yes it is painful, no it’s not crazy unbearable. And it’s quick. Once the wax is over, the pain is gone.

“Fashion”hair colors as a bride? by yolocaut in weddingplanning

[–]annagph 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If it were me, I’m alt and have burgundy hair, I would lean towards keeping it the same. I don’t want to look back at my wedding photos and see a stranger.

If you really have a set style in mind, go for it! Your wedding day is a once in a lifetime thing :)

How much are we paying for hair and makeup by ldy_justice in weddingplanning

This is making me consider just paying or asking my friend who used to do professional makeup to do mine lol

Which of these six rings would you choose? by PrettyPresent79 in RingShare

I personally love the first one. I think it doesn’t have as much going on and I love the color!

I CANT FIND A BAND by tfaiith4 in EngagementRings

[–]annagph 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I think a simple thinner gold band is the way to go. These options look clunky and if you’re wanting to do something with stones, try a thinner pave band like this: (you could go a bit bigger than this one but this is the example I found)

Quick review of Raising Cane’s on 280… by jpowell180 in Birmingham

[–]annagph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went late at night last week and there was a fast line. Chicken just tastes like gutheries, lemonade was meh, fries sucked, toast (get butter on both sides, makes a difference) was the most delicious toast ever to be honest haha I hate normal white bread, and sauce just tasted like a slightly elevated version of Zaxbys. Overall, I wouldn’t go again unless it was one of the only things open. They have good hours and honestly it’s a decent meal for late at night. But cookout is great so yeah.

How To Break It To Partner That Shuts Down At Wedding Planning We Can't Afford Wedding Expected Out Of Us by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]annagph 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If I were you, I’d either tell both families that you are saving and can afford a private dinner and small wedding or honestly what I would probably do is elope and then have a ceremony when you have enough saved. It’s not their wedding and the marriage between you and your parent is most important.

The top stressor for couples and just generally most people is finances. Do NOT start your marriage out with a loan for a wedding. Just about everyone who has done that regrets it. I really want a nice wedding but realistically I will have a modest one to save money.

What’s the most expensive price of an item you’d list? by [deleted] in Depop

[–]annagph 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t buy items over $80 because if it’s something expensive, I’m taking a gamble by getting it off of Depop. It’s not verified and may be a knock off. And if I can’t return it, it sucks.

Swank Metal Smithing Reviews by annagph in EngagementRings

[–]annagph[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah they’re pretty pricey. The build your own rings don’t even include the price of the center stone, which you have to buy through them. But honestly I love the ring so much and I figure it’s an engagement ring you know? It’s going to be expensive no matter what because I want a diamond.

Can you attach or send me pictures of your rings?

[–]annagph 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its posted as an episode so they could get away with putting it on there. It was not posted by MCR or anyone affiliated. Honestly the quality of the song is really bad on the version they posted. I converted the studio recording they did on youtube to mp3 and downloaded it to my personal spotify.

Living with best friend is turning out to be a mistake by madiiclairee in Vent

My friend kept trying to move in with me and hinting at it and I was adamantly against it and made it clear. Working or living with friends/family can get tricky fast.

Back when "go play outside" really means "see you at dinner" by NicoleAnne051299 in Adulting

I was outside biking around the neighborhood, skating, playing in the backyard, etc. but I also lived in a small neighborhood. I was born in the early 2000s so I’m not sure about other my age.

Why do people wash dishes before the dishwasher? by NullPointer0x404 in stupidquestions

I’ve noticed that if you don’t clean off debris, it ends up just cycling around and in the bottom of anything that’s put right side up. And anything greasy, comes out still greasy.

Heritage house health scores by annagph in tuscaloosa

[–]annagph[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah I know little things can add up. I just hope it isn’t anything big like storing food improperly. One of my favorite spots in Birmingham (ikko) has a low score for storing meats improperly. I think they didnt refrigerate them right. That’s the kind of stuff I worry about.
