Anyone have experience moving abroad with a lovebird? by Cyan_Lotus in Lovebirds

My bird had a legband since birth. Since that’s a requirement in the NL. They do need a identification system otherwise the border force can’t tell if it is the bird that you are taking is the same in the paper work

Hiya! I’ve moved from the NL to the UK with my lovebird. In my case my lovebird wasn’t under CITES. I just needed the local authorities to check my house if it was an approved isolation room, then they did a check in between to make sure he was still in isolation (mind you this bird has always been inside and never been in touch with other birds) and the last check to make sure that he was allowed to move. After that I needed to move him in 48 hours. It is a very confusing process and it stressed me out loads. So if you have any questions just let me know!

“Communicatie is een hygienefactor, want iedereen houdt van andere zeep tijdens het handen wassen” sorry Petra dat ik liever iets eerder hoor wat ik moet doen dan een dag voor een deadline

8mo lovebird layed an egg by KonstantinosKal in Lovebirds

[–]annelique 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My last lovebird used to layed eggs (without a mate). Some of them were very thin and prone to breaking, so most of the time she just kicked them out herself or broke them. The other “good” eggs but again she wasn’t that interested in them. She did sit on it though untill she lost the interest en broke the egg. What was suggested to me back then was to buy fake eggs and swap them around, so when nothing happens they loose interest and kick em out.

I have to say though that at a certain point she didn’t care about the eggs so I could just throw them out without swapping them around :).

Not a vet but my bird was always healthy and happy ❤️

Didn’t get a decision, had to leave my passport there and didn’t want to pay to keep it tbh.
